Able Signal 150 Miles Amplified HD Digital Outdoor HDTV Antenna with Motorized 360 Degree Rotation, UHF/VHF/FM Radio with Infrared Remote Control with Cable Management Kit

I purchased this antennae for my son who wanted to ditch cable TV, after it was recommended by a neighbor. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5, is because the assembly instructions leave a lot to be desired. I referred to the picture on the box and a very helpful you-tube video as a back-up. I attached it to a 20-foot pole and referred to tvfool.com to check the best signal strength direction and positioned it accordingly. We checked the directional remote-control (AAA batteries not included) and proceeded to scan for stations. To our delight, we picked up 71 stations and are about 65-70 miles from a major broadcasting area. We are very pleased with this moderately-priced and very effective antenna!

First some minor negatives:- One of the pre-installed elements ("U-frequency vibrators", as they call them) was slightly out of position. I unscrewed it from the unit in order to see if I could reseat it better, and found two screw holes almost on top of each other. It may have been a mistake that an assembler had tried to fix.- Something loose bounces around inside the rotor. I didn't test the rotor to see if it works, though. I only set up this antenna next to my old one in order to compare them.- There is a splatter of solder that had dripped onto the outside of the rotor.In spite of those quality control problems, this would be a fine, inexpensive antenna for most people.My closest stations came in at 100% with this antenna. But my old home-made antenna outshines this one. It shows 80 to 100% signal strength for stations that are nearly 80 miles from here. Those same stations are between 30 to 70% with this new one.The ONLY problem with my old antenna is it's about 5 years old and falling apart. I live somewhat high up in an apartment building where winds can be strong on the balcony where I put the antenna. I don't believe that this new antenna would last 5 years, and I need stronger signal strength anyway, so I'll return it. This is NOT to say that it wouldn't be perfectly fine for others with better conditions.

Easy to assemble and mount, very light.Good gain on UHF because the Antenna arm is short. VHF needs longer Antenna arm.Comparison with Deep Fringe Antenna (traditional TV antenna):Set up -- distance between antenna and control box (amplifier): 40-45 feet long cable TV stations: 20 - 45 miles1) Deep Fringe Antenna with 15dB signal amplifier can feed a TV 60 feet away (total 100 feet from antenna to TV)2) AbleSignal Amplified Antenna (25-30dB) can only feed a TV within 10 feet (total 50-55 feet between Antenna and TV)3) Add 15 dB signal amplifier between TV and AbleSignal amplifier TV output (based on 2), the total distance can extend to 120+ feet.3a) On a raining day, #3 set up reduced range to 100 feet for a TV station at 20 miles away.Should give 3.5 start, but remote control only works within 1 meter distance to the control box, so it is useless, thus 3 star.If you have a traditional TV antenna similar to deep fringe Antenna, keep it because deep fringe Antenna is still a best TV antenna.Add a signal amplifier if signal is low due to long cable or away from TV station.Updating:10 days later, turned off its own amplifier and use only the external amplifier (15dB one) between output to TV and TV on set up #3a, I still can marginally watch that TV station. So, the internal amplifier seems not strong; probably 12-15dB (not 25-30dB).Two months later, turn on the signal booster make reception worse :-(

Arrived as they said. Packaged nicely. Easy directions. Assembled quickly.Worked well but would NOT pick up signals 150 miles away. Did well for 50 to 60 miles away. Lasted little over a year and stopped working. Threw it in the trash and ordered a different brand.

Be very carfull when i pluged mine in for the first time it didnt even take 10 min and the controle box started to smoke burned a spot on my table and it melted never worked right out of the box.. The intenna itself does pick up from way over 80 miles. I had to use a controler from another intenna i had before this one.

While this unit is impressive looking, it couldn't get as many channels as I did with my old antenna. All of the TV transmitters are less than 50 miles away, but I lost some channels with this antenna . I sent it back for a refund.

Excellent product, they worked great, were good quality and I highly recommend them.

It was easy to assemble but I was able to only get two channels.. Tried placing it in 5 different areas around my home.. Would of returned it but the guy who put in up tossed the packaging so it is now setting in basement.. 😯 not happy at all with it..
