Bought this for my grandson, he loved it unfortunately he tripped on a rock fishing and it broke.

Purchased for my son. States he is unable to cast far because line stops at a certain point and snaps line. Keeps knotting up in reel. Although there were issues, customer service for this product wortked with me and offered different optionsd to correct the problem. Currently satisfied.

Bought this for my sons first baitcaster set up. Initially the rod and reel seemed to be of high quality upon first inspection for this price point. The reel actually performs quite well; it is very smooth, casts well, and to be honest, I like it. The rod feels and looks nice. The one unusual thing is that the sections don’t fully meet up. I’ve had expensive fly rods that use the same set up for joining rod sections and they too did not fully seat when assembling, this style usually isn’t the case on spinning or casting rods though. The rod is light and casts well. The major problem though is that my sons first fish on the rod, a 2lb bass, the rod broke in two pieces, right at the weird segment junction, as soon as he started to play the fish. It seemed to be a fault with the rod as there wasn’t anything weird about the fight. I also saw that another reviewer had the same problem. At this point I wouldn’t recommend this combo. If they sold the reel separately, I could recommend that but as a combo… look elsewhere.

I'm new to baitcasters, so I didn't want an expensive rig. I was pleasantly surprised by the how easy this works. I haven't had and problems at all all with this combo. I would buy again.

Would have given higher ⭐✨ stars if I didn't have any issues with reel. And you have to take so many step just to get in touch with the seller. Brilliant anodized aluminum forged so that it has the state of the fast brakes," But I am getting birdsnest or backlash "Tangled up". I should not have use my thumb all the time to slow down the stool once I cast out and it slow down before it hit the water. This is not my first bait cast rod I really like bait cast rod. But for some odd reasons this bait cast keep getting birdsnest, if I don't use my thumb to slow down the spool. I am not a professional, but I have fished off and on through out my life. I like the rod style and don't know what to do with the reel because returns with Amazon is not like it use to be . The company has changed some of their policies for the worse and made it difficult to get things done.I was show this technique "tying on a lure you use for that day and loosen the brakes or adjust the spool tension knob on your reel to where the lure starts to slowly drop. With your rod held horizontal at about chest height, open the bail on the reel and let the lure fall until it hits the ground. If a backlash occurs when the lure hits the ground, you need to tighten the brakes or spool tension."And "The Kentucky pro recommended keeping adjusting the reel until the lure landed on the ground without any loops forming in the spool." So, I have add some information, hoping that it will help the next person out.

Cheap and portable but very efficient. Great starter baitcaster for learners. Caught some nice fish on it. Highly recommend

This is a really nice rod and reel set with added goodies like a hard case and tackle too. For me, over 60 and new to fishing, it's been great. No problems, quite sturdy. Comfortable to hold. Have been using it in a local fast -moving river. Good quality. Love the bright green color too. Thanks for a great product!

I love the rod but the reel I didn't care for, but for me a casting reel works for me...
