Wonderful stories, well told. BEWARE: This is the young readers' version
The various chapters are well written and stories are magical and engaging. Be aware, however, I bought this for my son, and only later realized this is the young reader's version. I guess that was OK, but I was expecting the regular version which was more detailed.

Edgy for young children, good info
This is a fascinating look at the history of the periodic time table. A fun read although it includes dark history which I just may have reworded and summarized while reading to my 10-year-old. This may not be an issue for other parents. We had purchased some gallium and love having fun with learning.

This is the kids version
My daughter was required to have this book for one of her classes. There's a kids version and a more advanced adult version. Don't be like me and purchase the wrong one the first time.

Maybe a bit much for 10yr old
For a 10 year old reader the first section seems a little dark. A lot of talk about chemical weapons and their results. Not saying the descriptive details are not true just saying they seem a bit much for the younger reader.

Really great "cleaned up" version for younger folks!
I read the original version and LOVED it, so I was super excited to find a young readers edition! The original version has a little too much mature language for me to be comfortable with my kids reading it. But this has cleaned up language, some of the "colorful" stories are more glossed over, but its chalk full of fascinating history and science! It's a favorite among my kids. (For those from a more religious worldview, it does talk about big bang, millions of years, etc.)

¡Lectura fantástica!
Interesante, apasionado, lleno de historia, datos concretos y con una redacción que te hace sentir que estás en una conversación junto a las personas que vieron como ocurría todo lo que relata el libro. ¡Maravilloso!
