Way Overpriced
This is great rice, better than aborio rice for making risotto even though it is very similar. It is the real deal from the heart of the rice growing region in italy.I thought that the price for for two pounds of rice. $15 for a pound of this rice is gouging. Theseller is taking advantage of free shipping from amazon. I found the exact same product for 6.99 + shipping.Amazon may not be the cheapest, buyer beware. Shop around outside of amazon first and then compare.Product was shipped the next day.

By far and away the best risotto I have ever had anywhere any time
I was extremely happy with this product, which created by far-and-away the best risotto I have had anywhere. I tried the same exact risotto recipe with a number of "Arborio" risotto rices, and this "Carnaroli" rice in comparison came out miles ahead! Try it at least once in your life and see for yourself!

Splurge item
Definitely a high quality product which I deeply appreciate, but a bit too expensive at almost $20 when shipping is factored into the final price. If you have the extra money then enjoy this risotto, if not there are other quality alternatives.

Superior rice
This rice is far superior to the Arborio rice you find in most grocers. The grains are plump and firm and make the creamiest risotto. I highly recommend this rice. Take a look :} Love it!

The best rice in the world. Do some googling to cook it properly.
The best rice in the world! Do NOT be a heathen and steam this rice. Lightly toast in olive oil then add stock, wine etc. incrementally until it becomes rich and concentrated. Do not take it passed al dente.

Perfect rice for many uses not just paella - I used it for a lighter risotto, a pilaf, stuffed tomatoes/bell peppers, grape leaves ....next, will be rice pudding ...it is less starchy than an Arborio and less mushy than a CalRose, so you will get some texture

So worth the money
I learned about Carnaroli rice when I was in cooking school in Italy. It's far superior to other recommendd rices for making risotto. It's got excellent texture. It doesn't get mushy and it's flavor is excellent. If I'm going to take time to make risotto, I'll spend the extra money on Carnaroli.
