Massa Confusa: The Art of Christian Rex van Minnen

My wife’s boyfriend got this for my birthday recently. Really love looking at it with their child after dinner. Anyway it’s a simply splendid and couldn’t be more happy. Thanks Van Minnen!

Whenever buying an art book I always fear that a lot of the visual content will be repeated pictures of pieces or installations at different angles or highlighting details. This was not the case.A substantive introduction that got straight to the point. Tons of different artwork displayed in a good resolution which display different series of Christian Rex Van Minnen's work in an informative manner. Really happy to be able to have a deeper understanding of his artwork which, naturally, can be difficult to be able to see in person.

I can't say too much about the skill of this artist, because it is what I would have considered beyond humanly possible. The subtlety and beauty beneath sometimes literally a gum drop bubbly exterior goes several levels in explaining the subject. A real inspiration for anyone wishing to take their art to a visionary level of experience. Not just ugly/beautiful, it is beautiful.

Incredible. Buy this book. The work is equally extraordinary in technique and creativity. The artist interview is revealing and relatable. So much of the time we lament about bad art created by terrible personalities. Not the case here. Inspiring.

CRVM is a damn weirdo. This book of his paintings is amazing.

This book is an absolute privilege to own, the works on this book are mind blowing every piece will catch your attention, the colors are perfectly place to make you keep looking and love every piece a must have, definitely.

This book is incredible. His breadth of work is overwhelming. Cannot recommend this highly enough. Last thing I'll say is that I don't often have the urge to return to an art book that I've already scoured, but there is so much to see here and to digest, I'll be looking at it for years. There quality is also phenomenal.
