In July 2023, I was told that the increasing leg pain I’ve been experiencing since the beginning of the year is the result of deteriorating cartilage in my hip sockets. X-rays revealed that it had gotten so bad, I was having bone on bone pain as there is no cartilage left whatsoever. Of course, the hip surgeon insisted that my only solution was a full replacement, but due to extenuating circumstances from a run-in with a drunk driver nearly 40 years ago, I am not a good candidate for successful surgery. After doing plenty of research, I discovered that chicken sternum collagen in particular was excellent for rebuilding human cartilage. I immediately ordered this brand as well as another brand, which came even more highly recommended. The other included too many types of collagen, and made me very ill. So I switched back to the Piping Rock brand after about 3 weeks. Basically, I have been on it now for about 2 months and am very happy to report that I’ve been able this past week (mid-September) to walk around the house without needing the rollator. That’s the first time all year that I haven’t needed assistance. Progress is slow, but it’s definitely an improvement over how I was just a few short months ago. In fact, the pain in May was so bad I was in tears just trying to get from one room to another. I’m hopeful that by the end of the year, I can update this review with even more improvement. As a side note, I’m also taking 3 mg of boron, plus 500 mg of turmeric, and 2 Factor 5 capsules daily. But those are recent additions. I firmly believe that the collagen is doing all of the hard work and is greatly responsible for not only the decreased pain, but the increased range of motion and flexibility. I am very very pleased and will be starting on bottle number 3 next week. If I had anything to nitpick about, it’s the fact that you have to take 6 of them daily as a dose. But as long as they work, who cares? 😊

I just bought the capsules few weeks ago. For 6 capsules to be swallowed - early in the morning, on empty stomach - is pretty impractical! Lots of opinions are shared about it. I take two three times a day. As a supplement, I take it with food and I didn't have any side effects, yet. Too early to decide the validity of the Sternum. It should show after more than six weeks , apparently. I'll follow up.

I have taken this product before with no problem. But my last batch had such a foul oder I got a refund & threw it away. I have since ordered the same product from a different source with the same result--a foul smelling oder. What has happened??I reported the lot number and expiration date to Piping Rock. It was not past the expiration date. Piping Rock's only response was: "it has a unique oder." No explanation, no nothing. I can't take these as they make me nautious.
