KaiyodoTakeyashiki Jizai Okimono: Kirin Figure (Full Color Version)

A really nice sculpt flawed by some heavy handed paint and somewhat random applications. This is the "Full Color" version. Which basically means its a sort of Verdegris Green. They obviously tried to give it a more organic feel by not evenly applying the green base with an airbrush. But the spray applications is so heavy in places, such as the thighs as to be shockingly noticeable. Even with some orange peeling in places. The scales are drybrushed over with sloppily applied gold highlights. The gold paint used for the drybrush and the tail and mane is of such poor quality that it has a translucent brassy finish and is rubbing off with the slightest contact. Articulation is ok. It is extremely complex in points, but for some reason it does not always pay off. Case in point the front legs. The legs seem to forever toe in a bit no matter what you do. Movement feels somewhat restricted by the shoulder flame pieces, which while hinged seem oddly so. This is a shame as the hindquarters are beautifully executed.The stand that it comes with is in a word an embarrassment. It has no supporting arm, so no way to display a creature who mythically "does not touch the ground", in flight. All it has is some small pegs that you can attempt to wrestle the hooves onto. They don't line up with where the legs actually want to go. And they hold very poorly. What makes this particular nasty is the later Kaiyodo Revoltech Project KT figure, # 008 the Brown Horse, which uses a somewhat similar "horse" design is a pure delight. With perhaps the best stand that Kaiyodo has ever put out, and a wonderful level of movement. It moves so well A friend of mine uses that figure for teaching Horsemanship and Horseback riding. This one, not so much.It is worth getting as it is such a distinct subject. I mean how many nice articulated Kirin action figures will we ever see? But it does have more than a few flaws. The main one being the paint apps. I would like to think this is particular to my specimen as the Ryu Dragona dn Brown Horse that I have from the KT line both have a very nice even application and are well painted.

This is a striking model; it gets plenty of attention, even when displayed next to much larger miniatures of dragons used in some fantasy role-playing games. I'm quite happy with it. It is articulated, so it can be configured in any number of poses.. The only thing that could be improved would be if it had a base that allowed it to be displayed in such a way that it does not touch the ground, since the Kirin of legend never touches the ground. I did have a minor issue with the pegs that affix it to its stand -- they were a very tight fit, but I filed two of them down just a little, and they're easier to work with now. It is better that the pegs fit very tightly, rather than be too loose.

Nicely detailed, comes with extra pieces including extra neck scales. Not sure what to do with that, but overall satisfied

いななく様なポーズは時間が経つと落ちてきます。ウチでは前足を水晶の台に乗せて飾っています。これだと見た目もかっこいいかなぁと。

同シリーズの龍 着彩と一緒に購入しました。ポーズをとらせたものの台座に固定できずに挫けそうでした…そこだけマイナスです。あとは色、動き等大満足です！

先輩諸氏の評価もありましょうが、小生はなかなかの出来と思います。また「この麒麟の錆ver.」や「骸骨」（特に「骸骨」）、もコレクションしたいものです。

海洋堂が江戸の工芸品を現代の可動フィギュアとして復活させたタケヤ式自在置物。　【良い点】・やり過ぎと言える塗装。・馬の時より動かし易く、楽しい眼球可動。・馬より自立し易い（3本脚でも立つ）。・左右の炎の揺らぎパーツも可動。・口のポロリが馬より改善。・スリムで堅牢　【気になった点】・リボ球のクセ。特に軸可動の初期設定が各所微妙に異なっている為、勢いを付けて曲げようとすると破損の恐れがあるので要注意。　説明書にある様に、リボプライヤー等の工具（フィギュアに傷を付けにくい柔らかい樹脂性のプライヤー）を使用して、一度分解し、リボ球の軸位置を確認・調整すると飛躍的に動かし易くなります。　固い所は何度か動かして行くうちにこなれて来ます。・首には4つの関節しかない為、可動部を確認して動かす必要あり。・首を前に曲げた状態だと口が開き難くなる。・尖った部品が多いので動かす時に手が痛い。・私の購入品は台座の固定用ピンと麒麟本体の蹄に付いた穴の径が合わず、固定出来ませんでした。・顔がもろに龍。これは好みによると思います。　オマケのケンタウロス用部品を今回初めて活用して観ました。　これは腰部に径が合うリボ球を持ったフィギュアにしか使えません。　主にリボルテックタケヤの仏像フィギュアとの組み合わせを推奨していますが、評者が組み合わせたのは海洋堂リボルテックの人気かつ物議をかもした女性フィギュアシリーズの一体です。　余りのド迫力に絶句する形態が出来ました。　家族に見つかったら食事抜き、話しかけ禁止になりそうですが、作ってみる誘惑に勝てませんでした。

とにかく色使いがサンプルの画像から想像していたものと違いすぎます。それでも鉄錆地版より、こちらのほうがシックリきます。箱に使ってある写真くらいハッキリした色であれば良いのですが・・・。たとえば前足の付け根。肩にあたる雲は鮮やかな朱に見えるのですが、実物は茶色です。ちなみに口から見えている舌は写真では同じ色に見えているのですが、こちらは本当に明るい朱色なので買うときに参考にする画像に整合性は全くなしと言わざるを得ません。それだけ某ビールメーカーのラベルの印象が強いのかと思ってしまいますが首から腹部にかけてのグレイの着色など「自在置物」という言葉の響きに期待していた金属管とは程遠くガッカリさせられてしまいます
