Saved my son's life!
Ok so maybe a bit dramatic but he hates tying shoes and I hate fighting about it. Enter Hickies! fixed us all up. I wasn't sure if they would fit his shoes as they are youth 6 but they did the job just fine. not sure about durability yet in the long run but so far so good.

they're called what?
wow.I wear a size 11 women's' shoe, and was a little hesitant about trying these.I've used the bungee cord type laces, and of regular laces, and even fancy flat regular laces... my feet had started to go numb in my tennis shoes. my brand new ghost 9s.. not cool. These come with instructions on 3 different ways of "lacing" depending on how tight you want/need them. It's a box of 14, and since this particular box is multicolor, there will be 2 colors that have 1 more than the other 2. Oh, and fyi- the neon pink is an Exact match for the pink ghost 9, the neon orange and neon yellow are also Sweet, and the teal is okay (it could be cooler.. kinda dark)So it took me a few tries, and my hands are kinda weak, so I did this over the course of a couple days, but I put them all straight first and tried them on. Then I took out the top half and switched them to the side by side lacing which loosens them up. I'm able to go all the way to the very top hole with these things.I wore them last night to dinner, and my husband was Shocked at how fast I put them on. I literally pulled them on my feet and straightened the tongue. It was nuts.Whereas With the bungee type, there's this re-tuging at the laces as they stretch, and then moving the clippy...So this all has me wondering if the Hickies might work on my hiking boots too. I'm almost positive my husband wants some for his shoes after seeing mine. :) He died laughing when I told him the brand name.

Nice but too pricey
I'm writing this review as someone who has had these on a pair of sneakers for 50 weeks. Today my second lace broke (both the pink ones broke). I still have others, though no more pinks. As others said, you learn to not cross your feet much because you can unhook a lace. I paid less for mine at the time but think they should've cost $9.99 instead of the going price today. I liked the fit of my sneakers. I have a normal width foot though I think I'm a little skinny when it comes to the height of my foot (from sole to the top). I have had zero problems with the fit. I wear them 3 times per week for a workout that includes 60 to 90 minutes of walking and elliptical machines. I like them but wouldn't pay the current price for them.

Not for contact sports or organic chemistry labs
These are in fact gorgeous, but they are not rugged. You can make them looser or tighter by being creative with the "lacing" pattern, so once they stretch they are not used up.However, i broke one putting them into my skates the very first time. Then during practice, two more of them snapped. So, they can't hold up to roller derby practice. No big deal, i moved them to my work shoes. In my work shoes, they lasted about 3 months before the environment of my organic chemistry lab basically disintegrated them. The rubber turned hard and brittle, and about 5 more broke in a week. Now i didn't have enough to cover a pair of shoes even skipping lace holes and using interesting lacing patterns. So my initial investment got me about 3 months of use. I don't consider that to be a great return, when you can use ordinary shock cord to accomplish the same task for much less money. Now, if your job and sport are less caustic or contact based, perhaps you'll get more wear out of these. Consider how intense your lifestyle is and purchase accordingly.

Fun, Different, Great Alternative
I really do like these, they're different. I took one star off because they have limited stretch, which is fine except at the top. If your feet are wide, or high at the instep, these might stretch beyond their ability to not break, especially after you've taken your shoes on & off frequently. But, other than that they're great! I love that each is separate, so if one does break you don't have to replace everything (like you would with a single lace), and you could still wear your shoe until you replace the broken one (not so with a single lace), and being individual "laces" it gives you the ability to mix and match colors! :-) These are fun, very functional, and I recommend them.

How they fit depends on the shoe
The particular shoes I bought these for have a wide gap between the flaps (it's just the style), and I have a small bunyon which means I need my shoes to be loose-ish. That combination made the Hickies too snug to use them the "normal" way (first pic; too snug). There are no size variations in this pack of ties, but they do show different ways to attach for a tighter or looser fit. So, tried plan B. Second pic was the only way I could configure them to be comfortable enough. Hardly optimum. To wear these Hickies either looser or tighter you MUST have an even number of holes, which this pair of shoes does not have. So, bottom line -- these are fine and cute and maybe aren't as flexible to different shoe configurations as they might be for the cost. You might even need them to be looser or tighter in different areas of the shoe, i.e., toe and instep.

I love these things as they offer a quick and easy ...
A friend bought these for me initially but since then, I've bought another set for another pair of running shoes. I love these things as they offer a quick and easy way to slip your shoes off and on yet still offer me the support I need to keep my shoes tight while running. I am constantly asked about them at running events as well. When using these to replace your shoe laces, make sure you visit their website to look at the various lacing techniques. I actually have applied all 3 lacing methods in some form or fashion to my shoes so they are tighter toward the base of the shoe yet looser as you come to the top to allow for me to slip my shoes off and on.Overall, quite happy with these.

An excellent product.
Well, it's been a few weeks and I haven't received this order yet. Don't know why I'm still waiting for a very, very small package. I can give this product 5 stars because I've been using Hickies for a few years now. They are just plain awesome. Do exactly what they're supposed to do ..... act like a shoelace, but make the shoe a slip-on.

Helpful for mid top shoes who do not like tying their shoes

Muy apretadas. Duelen
Demasiado apretadas y no se ven bonitas. Los colores naranjas ya se están despintando. Tuve que comprar otras

Toller Laces Ersatz ...
