They are bright but,
They go through batteries if you turn off with remote they do not fully turn off batteries do not last, so turn off by switch or just remove the batteries after you get through with them

Back For More!
Purchased two of these, and two of another brand (made of wax material) last year for Christmas decor. I keep candles in all my front window year round, so I wanted coloring changing so I could use them for each holiday of the year. Now it's that time of year and I'm back for two more boxes of these. Yes, the ones from last year still work. However, I'm going all resin/plastic from here on out instead the wax ones, the ones ...." good for indoor/outdoor" ..well...not all are pillars anymore, Temps where I am are not what I would call extreme, typically mid 30's to mid 40's at night in winter, late Spring & Summer usually brings highs in the triple digits. The wax pillars around the house are ok, but the ones in the windows, shall I say..the are the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree of candles or if you rather, the Leaning Tower of Pisa of candles. Misshaped, bent, leaning to one side. Not pretty by any standard. Plus if you wear rings and are not careful, they scratch the wax. But these, looks are deceiving, you'd think they would break easily, especially after being exposed to heat and cold as they are. Wrong. The ones in my windows look as good as they did almost a year ago. Plus with help from small hands, some have taken nasty falls, and still all is well. I set them on their timers, they come on and turn off after 6 hours, every single day. I've never had to replace the remote battery, the batteries in the candles I replace about every 4-5 weeks. It may seem a lot, but as I do have them running over 40 hours a week, I don't think the battery usage is excessive. As for the colors..this is my only complaint. After 6 months or so, not every color still works. This was proven on all four boxes, plastic and wax. What I would consider standard colors. Yellow, clear (whitish) red, green, blue, pink, all are perfect, the other colors some do not work and some are fainter than they were 6 months ago, e.g. : purple is now lavender, orange is a Rose red... but this brand did keep more colors than the wax. I do love that the entire pillar is the color you set, not just the top half. Are they worth the money? Yes. Would I recommended? Yes. And obviously, I would buy again. Hope that helps!

a great product at the sale price for $20
These candles do indeed do what the review says they will do. There are a couple of technical specifics that are incorrect in the product description listed on Amazon's website itself, however. First off, the candles need THREE (3) AAA (triple A) batteries, where the listing shows that you'll only need TWO, and the product description does not say whether they are included---I figured they were not included simply because most of the time they aren't. Plan on spending another $15-20 to install batteries. Second, the remote control on the device is somewhat sporadic. If you wish to change the colors on the candles, make sure you are pointing the remote at each candle individually, and that they are spaced apart from each other well enough that your signal doesn't hit another adjacent candle (~5-8 feet.) You may have to hit the remote button color that you desire a couple of times for the desired color to take effect. I've owned these for several hours only, but so far, everything out of the box has worked according to specification. The candles are VERY lightweight and they came in a box that was smaller than I anticipated. You'll get THREE candles, one 4", one 5", and the tallest at 6". Make sure to not misread the description that says "three 4," 5," and "6," because you're only getting THREE candles, not NINE. Otherwise, a great product at the sale price for $20. These should last around a decade or so, with a few battery changes every few years. Good for festive occasions and room lighting. Also, should you want to really spice up an area, I would advise buying several sets to really set the mood. Good product overall.

The Look, Functioning & Perks of These Candles Get Two Thumbs Up
These are GREAT!! I bought them for my mother. She lived in senior housing that didn't allow candles. This definitely could fool someone if it's on the regular amber setting. However the other colors are very nice, especially the red. The pictures for the item don't really reflect the actual appearance. They are much nicer. The battery life was much longer than I would have expected. My mother was in the hospital for a number of weeks before passing on. I had gotten these for her previous to going into the hospital and she used at home. Once in the hospital I brought the medium size candle in to her room and we would put it on red, it had a soothing effect and created a nice ambience. I could also push the timer for it to be on for a select number of hours then turn off. I liked this aspect having it in the hospital knowing it would stay on for hours and if my mother woke throughout the night she would be comforted by the glowing red, and then later go off as dawn got closer. Finally, in addition to the timer there is a remote control that is very convenient, in particular for someone who has difficulty getting up and down. (Or is in the hospital). You could also place them in higher up positions and not need to touch them to turn them on, simply push the buttons for color selection and voila. Given it's the beginning of December I'd say these would help to add a more festive environment in your house OR would make a nice gift. For the price this is definitely worth it.

Bright and atmospheric!
I bought these candles as a gift for my girlfriend a while back, and suffice to say she absolutely loves them. They give off quite vibrant colours and transform a room into a very atmospheric setting, perfect for relaxing in after a long day. Even though you can only choose from 12 colours, the choice is pretty good, especially when compared to other similar products in this price range, which tend to be fixed in colour. They're quite bright, and are enough to cover an entire small/medium sized room in the colour they give off, but not bright enough that the soft candle effect is ruined. I'm not too sure about the flicker effect however: The light simply pulsates on and off quickly in a fairly artificial way, and is too constant to mimic the random flickerings a candle produces. However I think this is only a minor negative point, as I feel the light that these give off when on the constant setting is atmospheric enough on their own. The remote is a nice feature too and has a surprisingly good range - I could turn these candles on and off from anywhere in the room they were in!

Great 'mood enhancers'!
For some years now I have burned candles in the evening when relaxing, and to help create atmosphere and ambience, and so I can't recommend these colour-changing candles too highly - a really super product - and a steal if you can get them for about £12 as I did from one seller, especially bearing in mind that three 'real' candles the same size would cost more and, of course, burn out. I bought two sets myself. With twelve colours to choose from, either set as a steady light or flickering candle-like (itself quite realistic), as well as an option to smoothly cycle through all the colours continuously in ‘multi colour’ mode, you are rather spoilt for choice. Even more so because you can set each candle one way or the other individually – in other words they can all be set differently – though, because the remote control unit activates all the candles at the same time together if they are all in range, you’ll have to be a little creative in how you set each differently from the others if you want them near to each other – either go into another room with each one to set it, or turn your back to the others using your body as a shield – this latter method usually works well. The battery life seems to be pretty good, and to keep costs lower over the long-term I use re-chargeable batteries – these are probably more environmentally friendly too, not least because such batteries last several hundred charges over a few years. The use of such candles is perhaps more healthy as well as you have no exhaust fumes to inhale from burning wax.Sounding somewhat ‘esoteric’, though as much ‘neurological’, I especially enjoy exploring and using (legal) multi-sensory stimulation effects – in the form of sound (usually music), scent (incense/smelly candles/essential oils) and lighting (candles/lamps) - to help create an atmosphere and environment conducive to influencing my ‘emotional mood’, ‘thoughts’ and ‘perception’ – my ‘state of mind/consciousness’ if you like - and have found these candles really useful in this respect, especially more so for me when combined with music and scent. As such I think they make a useful addition to any ‘sacred space’ you might want to create, including that for meditation, relaxation and ‘ritual/ceremonial’ purposes – whatever floats your boat, as they say. One interesting way I use the lights is to set them to a particular colour and lighting mode, and place them just a foot or two in front of my closed eyes – the lighting effects, especially when flickering or smoothly cycling through multi-colours, can be most ‘interesting’, and can certainly enrich and enhance the ‘state of mind/consciousness’ effects of simultaneous music and scent. The candles are easily bright enough to illuminate a whole room when all three are on together, especially more so when combined with ‘real’ candles, as there is something deeply primordial, I think, about the sight of real flame/fire that can’t be simulated with electric candles. That said, the flickering effect is most realistic in these ‘tall’ candles, and looks pretty much like the way a real flame flickers and gutters in wax candles of the same size when burned down on the inside to form a deep hollow.

Very pretty
This was a gift to my mum. She loves it. Loves how it's remote control to change the sequence and to turn it on and off by. Good value for money and looks really nice and well made too.

Mooncandles
They are better than expected. the remote works well and the timer function is great. I have set them in a lantern on my patio table outside the front of my house and they look stunning. I will be buying some more. They are half price at the moment so that a big bonus. the colours are great so you can set the mood you want. So far I have used them every night for between 4 and 6 hours which is the timer function and I once forgot to set the timer so they were on for 15 hours and I am still on the first set of quality batteries which has amazed me as they are left outside all the time and I thought the batteries would have died by now so I am very pleased with these. Totally recommend them.

Glowing Review
I very frequently have several candles lit on the mantelpiece throughout the evenings, so I thought these would be ideal.Only had these one day, and if its not too early to say I am very pleased indeed with these. I was undecided between getting these or the scented square version candles, so I bought both.I love the ability to glow constantly in a choice of colours, flicker or cycle through the various colours via a remote control. I recently bought a real wax candle that changes colour for £7 not knowing it cost that when I put it in my basket, and although pleasant enough it had a limited life. For the price of two of those I have this lovely set that will lap the lifetime of that product umpteen times over (hopefully). These are pretty much the same as the square version with the following pro/con comparison's but I don't for one minute regret buying both:- The round ones are more radiant, but required AA batteries were not supplied.- The square ones had the batteries installed.- A button lithium battery is installed in the remote with both.- The multi colour mode and options are the same on both. The bottom line is that I am HUGELY pleased with them, and that I bought BOTH sets rather than just one at this price, and be biting my lip as to what the other set would have been like had I only bought one.
