My baby slept all night on the first night we got this new mattress..I also got the mattress protector over it, but its really soft....

Perfect for us.
This is a great mattress for our baby. There was no smell to it, however, we did buy an open box one to save money. I imagine if it did have an odor, just airing it out for awhile would solve the problem. I like the different firmness options on either side. It’s also very quiet, not plastic covered like other baby mattresses that crinkle when baby moves. Fits snugly in the crib. I can’t attest to its waterproofing, as I always keep a waterproof cover on mattresses to keep them clean.

Great Mattress!
My little one has been struggling to get comfortable and stay asleep, to the point he was up several times a night crying. This mattress has been a lifesaver. He's waking up maybe once a night and is able to comfort himself and go back to sleep. He doesn't seem to be waking up sweaty or uncomfortable. He did have a leaking incident and I was worried about the mattress but it didn't mess it up at all. ALL AROUND WIN! So happy I took the jump and purchased this.

Caving in
After <3 months of use on the infant side it’s already caving in in the middle. I rotate the mattress every time I change the sheets to try and correct it but it’s only getting worse. My daughter is only 4 months old and I’m having to debate if this mattress is still acceptable for safe sleep. On a positive note prior to this (when the mattress was firm) she slept really well on it.Update 11/27: contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a new mattress. So far no issues with the new one.
