Natural Horsemanship In recent years natural horsemanship training methods have grown in popularity and become widely accepted in the equestrian world. Natural horsemanship emphasizes the importance of authentic communication between horse and handler by promoting a mutual understanding and responsiveness to each other’s body language while training. One of the essential tools designed to aid this effective communication is the rope halter. The Halter The Natural Horsemanship halter is one of the key tools you need to effectively work your horse from the ground. These high quality rope halters are carefully crafted and individually hand-tied to ensure a superior and well-balanced fit for your horse. Available in 10 different sizes and a choice of colours, this variety of options ensures you will choose the perfect halter for your equine needs. The Rope The halter is made from high quality, 1/4 inch (6mm) polyester yachting rope that is smooth, soft, durable, and responsive. Polyester is strong and wear resistant. It will stay truer to its original form for longer without fading, stretching, weakening or breaking. The Difference Cheaper halters are made from inferior rope, typically nylon or polypropylene. These ropes are sensitive to degradation and will become brittle and weak if left in the sun. They will stretch and lose their shape in a short space of time. Exposure to rain hardens the rope fibers, causing them to crack, which rapidly makes the rope unsafe. These cheap ropes are stiff and slippery, and knots tied in them are notorious for slipping and becoming undone. For these reasons, experienced Natural Horsemanship practitioners always choose high quality polyester rope halters for all their training needs.

Great headcollar for any type of horse
I bought this headcollar for doing some in hand training with my youngsters - two high spirited sports horses. They weren't respecting a normal leather headcollar, and were doing aerial acrobatics when turning out and bringing in, and they would use their force and power to bolt at high speed away from me, which made me a bit unpopular on the yard. I bought this headcollar, with a plan to do some "manners training" with the two cute tearaways. Firstly, it's pretty easy to put on and luckily it fits both of them. Secondly, while they are still highly spirited during turnout, I find this helps to control it, they respect it more than a plain headcollar. So, the 3 year old still stands on two legs and air punches the sky with front hooves, and does some impressive, heated bronking, but now he doesn't bolt away (bear in mind I am attaching the headcollar to a long lunge line so I can keep a safe distance from the aerials). Today, for example, as I was walking him to turn him out, he decided to lay down and have a roll... I was able to yank him back up as he knelt down on his front knees, and made him get up again, which he wasn't too pleased about! Thirdly, the headcollar in itself does help, but you also need to have an understanding of ground work training - and need to teach them basics - and the headcollar does help in this. I would recommend this product.

Lovely and simple
Simple and effective. My horses respond well to rope halters and all of them even the big boys are respectful of them. Initially, i was sceptical about a fine rope halter giving me the control over a 16.3 ex-racehorse who can come out of the stable like leaving the gate at the gold cup. I shouldn't have worried and I think it helps to have the fine rope over the poll. I now ride in the rope halters for field training and the horses have shown that they do not need a bit which is very liberating.

it works...
I bought this for stroppy yearling, I thought it was expensive - but this filly has alot of attitude and headcollars were not having desired effect (throwing her head around, pulling against me etc) When it arrived I was disappointed as the rope seems very thin, and it was the most expensive piece of (pink) rope I have ever bought! Having said that it is very effective.... In hindsight perhaps the rope is thin to exert more pressure when you need to give a tug. So yes it does seem expensive, but it does work, perfect for bolshy ponies.

Love these natural horsemanship halters
The horse really likes this halter, responded well to it, he's used to a nylon bucket halter.Easy to do up and have started using it under the bridle with a long lead rope to use instead of the bridle and reins, when the horses calm.My only complaint is, the part where you clip the lead rope onto got in a muddle. Due to location of my horse, I keep things like this in my car. After second use, I noticed the hoops at the bottom had got caught and the loop to clip the lead rope is now not clear at all...

Perfect (almost)
Arrives fast, rope is soft and of good quality, however the full was the tinniest bit tight on my 16.3 tb BUT she normally fits a cob so i think the sizing may be a little small, it is adjustable tho so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Good quality product.
I have a horse who can be very bargy when trying to load. Using this halter my horse no longer tows me all over the yard. I now have better control loading. He definitely respects it. It is great quality and the fit is great.

Top quality products
I had never used a rope halter before but purchased this for my young horse, together with a long, heavyweight, lead rope. My hands and arms are quite weak as a result of injury. I have found it to be brilliant to use - would recommend. Horse is calm and only a VERY light pressure and QUICK release has made us both feel more secure in new environments. the halter is light enough to leave under bridle when riding. Love these products.

Strong, does the job very well
Got for a very large strong horse who liked taking me grass skiing! Took 2 days to stop, now walks like my shadow and great at ground work. This fit well, was easy to use and even though he is a real chewer of anything left in his stable, it is still strong and safe to use. Good size, follow the recommendation for sizing
