the small ground stakes do not hold in wind
After assembling We were so excited to put up outside. The wind knocked over the windmill because the tiny stakes do not hold this tall mill in place. When it fell, It bent the propeller so now it wobbles when it spins. Had to pound heavy steel rods into ground to line up inside the 4 poles. I wish I could just replace the top part but don't want to purchase the whole thing. Needs to come with heavier stakes!!Other than the wobble, it's cute.

Is quite hard to put together, but the fruits of your labor will be rewarded

Don't rush construction
1. Very well engineered, meaning all fasteners lined up perfectly with pre-drilled holes2. Appears to be stout3. Painting and glaze were done with care4. Instructions are pictorialRecommend close examination of instructions "before" commencing.Construction time elapsed: a shade over 90 minutes.Recommend NOT tightening any screws until tower is built. Snug up fasteners AFTER construction.Recommend discarding the "peg's" provided. Went with camping tent pegs instead. An earlier comment was made stating the "head" had difficulty spinning and rotating. To avoid this potential care was taken to "level" and "anchor" the tower prior to head installation. Dilectric grease was applied the spinning and rotating shafts.Item assembled and installed day of receipt.Very, very pleased thus-far.

not everyone understands these instructions
my kids purchased for moms birthday. it arrived while I was at work. when I got home they had the blades attached to the top of the wind mill but the tower was not assembled. as a building contractor I had no issues with assembly but I could understand with the directions they gave how my wife and kids couldn't figure it out.

Nice addition to back yard
Nice windmill for backyard. It is almost silent. Very well balanced and responds to the wind well.it does take some wind to turn, but as it starts to break in, it seems to turn in lighter winds now. I did what others suggested and go buy SS screws to keep the rust down. I did actually paint this as I bought as a Mother's day gift and to get it in on time, I had to buy the "John-Deere" green and yellow one. Wife said it looked like a tractor, so I painted it with high quality Silver and Red. She loves it now. Good price and fun to put together if you remember erector sets from the 60's

What I needed.
Was looking for one similar to one we already had, this windmill was a little smaller, but ok for the price.
