Buffalo Games - Charles Wysocki - Trick or Treat Hotel - 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

Great and fun puzzle.

I haven't even started the puzzle and I'm already really happy with this Buffalo product.Why? No plastic! No plastic overwrap on the box, no plastic bag for the pieces. I slid my knife around all 4 sides to cut the glue and there were all the pieces, just like "the old days" no plastic bag to discard. Now, I realize there are people that wouldn't think that they needed to write a review immediately after opening a box, but I was pretty jazzed by such a simple thing.If lack of plastic doesn't make you want to give Buffalo a shot, then how about that they included a poster! I love when companies do that!The puzzle pieces themselves are roughly the size of a quarter. They're not as thick as Ravensburger or Bgraamiens, but not flimsy. They have a nice gloss finish, enough to have a shine, but not so much that the light from my puzzle lamp glares off of them. For this particular puzzle, the images have that mottled effect that you'd expect of a paint on canvas.As far as they're interlock quality, I cannot say. I literally JUST opened the box. I haven't even begun sorting the pieces yet.

I thought it was weird that for a new puzzle the was no plastic around it, there was one piece missing.husdand and I put together and it was missing

Enjoyable puzzle to help pass the time

My husband and I buy puzzles by Buffalo Games almost exclusively because of the included poster which is critically important for older eyes. We are especially fond of Charles Wysocki's puzzles. This one was perfection in that the puzzle wasn't missing (has happened once or twice, but not with Wysocki); the pieces were intact (which has been a problem with a couple of Wysocki puzzles from Buffalo); and no pieces were warped.After assembling the frame, we joked as to whether we should "just put it back in the box now" because it looked as if it was going to be really really hard. But it took us two days, which is how long puzzles usually take us; therefore, it wasn't actually harder than most 1000 piece puzzles by Wysocki and sold by Buffalo Games.The theme made if fun to work. Highly recommend.

This puzzle came in a generic puzzle box (glued shut on the sides) and the pieces were loose in the box. There was some puzzle dust, but, not very much. The box gets damaged when opening it and that is the downside to this type of packaging. The pieces themselves are sturdy and there was no damaged pieces. This would be a good puzzle for an intermediate puzzler due to the difficulty. I would not recommend this for young children because some of the imagery (one in particular) is not appropriate. It is a great puzzle for the price point. I rated it at a four star due to the packaging.

Fun puzzle

This was a really fun puzzle! It was harder than it looks because there are so many little crazy creatures hidden among the trees. Plan to spend more time than you think on this one and enjoy the creative ghouls and goblins hidden everywhere in this puzzle.
