I would say it’s shower proof but wouldn’t handle heavy rain without the cover, I do like it tho, very handy extra storage on the bike and delivery was within the stated time as well

There is not a base for it to fit onto, just the straps to wrap around seat or a frame. I fitted a tail piece/rack to my bike for it to fit onto.
