Dyson AM10 Humidifier, White/Silver

I don't know what the negative reviews are really talking about because some people are too lazy to understand how these high profile machines work. Yes, the instructions say to use tap water but you should know to always use distilled water for any appliance that requires water. This includes your coffee maker and iron. Distilled water removes the metals and negative contents typically found in your city/well water by simply using the purest water possible. Cleaning becomes nearly negligible. Sure, you have to pay $0.87 for a gallon of distilled water at a grocery store to use this to the best of its ability but that's nothing compared to the quality of air you'll receive thereafter. This appliance is a breeze to use and it works wonders. It's quiet and efficient. I paid $120 for a different humidifier and hate to death the work involved (filters, grime, noise, etc.). I lost more money on that with my time and the expensive useless filters that eventually harbored MOLD. I do love Dyson products but this one was a must have for winter weather. And then it CLEANS the air when passing water through it using UV. Fantastic.

Oustanding product which met our needs, my wife was having bad times with the low humidity due to the winter season in our locatuin in Japan, however, purchasing and using this Dyson product we absolutely feel the difference, but more than that, we feel the absolute comfort in our living and bedroom environment, which is where we are using it. It is worth the price, because of it’s high performance, capbility to set the required humidity percentage in the environment and less but not the least, it’s look and nice design, which allows the system to blow air and water without having any blades outside.

OK. No doubt about it - these dyson humidifiers are really expensive, but after years of using humidifiers that make the bedroom too damp because they don't monitor the humidity level in the room, or buying humidifiers that are supposed to monitor humidity levels but don't do a good job, are noisy, or all the other problems I've had with the many humidifiers I've purchased over the years, I finally broke down and bought one of these. I was so pleased with how well it works that I bought a second one for the family room.

When it worked, it worked quite well. It was quiet and really added moisture to our bedroom (we live in a home with wood heat so it can be quite dry). It stopped working 2.5 months after we purchased it. We had cleaned it weekly (which is quite a thing to have to do) and monthly we did two big cleanings. the thing still works as a fan - a $400 fan! But doesn’t produce any steam any longer. So disappointing. What a waste. Save your money, buy something that doesn’t require so much upkeep and that actually works.

I returned this product because the humidity is triggering the fire alarm in my school dorm. But for the several days that I was using it, it worked perfectly fine: almost no visible mist, barely making any sound at wind level 5, and looks absolutely elegant compared to traditional humidifiers. The problems, though minor, are: 1.the remote is not working on the day it arrived, probably due to battery failure. I am not concerned with if the humidifier can be remotely controlled across the room, but without the remote, the humidifier 's full function cannot be utilized. 2. Since it can also be used as a fan, it would be better if it can have a "rotate" function as a fan does. 3. You have to remove the upper ring to get access to the water tank, which can be troublesome since the capacity of the tank is rather small (3L) and need to be refilled rather frequently. Also, there can be some water residue in the ring so you have to avoid spilling when you remove the ring. 4. The power adapter is huge and you have to plug the entire thing into the power outlet, so it may be hard to get it connected to certain wall plugs and extension cords. It would be better if they could at least make the adapter separate from the plug, like that of a traditional laptop, where the plug (and its cable) is attached, not fixed, to the adapter. Overall, I think it is certainly an awesome product if you are willing to pay for its price, but it can be further improved for sure. I wish I could have it longer though.

So far so good! I've read reviews that this product breaks down after a short while. We've had this humidifier for about 4 months now with no problems. Easy to clean and definitely do not have to clean as often as a normal humidifier. I used to wake up with flu like symptoms from 4 other humidifiers that I've tried (all brand new). Not this one...thinking it has something to do with the light to kill bacteria. I wake up feeling clear headed and great! Love this humidifier!

I waited until I had the AM10 Humidifier working for a month or so before reviewing it. Point of disclosure - I have been a fan of Dyson products for quite a while. This one looked great, was well made, quiet, and simple to operate. The only problem was that it didn't change the humidity in the room. Since humidity is largely invisible, it is a must also to buy a hygrometer, which I did later on. The Humidifier claimed that the humidity was between 50 and 60 units; the hygrometer said 38 - 42, which the hygrometer rated as "dry". The Dyson unit was relatively expensive, substantially more than seemingly comparable other units, so it is a great disappointment to report its questionable performance.

I have tried a few humidifers before using Dyson Humidifier.Infact when I used a hot humidifier my cold worsened. Had a trust in Dyson products and decided to give this a try as we have been having a rough time in the spring where flu is very common.After using this humidifier daily, we have recovered quickly and it keeps the throat moistened.I like this a lot and use it daily during sleep time.
