Insight Kayak Rack - Free Standing Kayak Storage for Indoor/Outdoor

I did a lot of research before purchasing this. There were a lot more expensive one’s out there, but I just needed something sturdy, not flashy. This one fits the bill. The instructions for putting together are fairly non existent, but it’s easy enough to figure out. You might have extra screws and such when you’re done, but don’t freak, you did it right. Probably not a bad idea to tighten everything down from time to time just to be safe. One thing I really wanted was for this to be portable so I could roll it out of the garage for cleaning and drying outside. This rack just came with flat metal platform screws (for lack of the proper term). Not particularly easy to move around the garage, but I found the exact size wheels that will fit and make it portable. Now it works exactly like what I was hoping to find. I’m including it in the review. Unfortunately they sell them in packs of 4 and you’ll need six, but trust me you’ll be glad you did and you’ll have extras in the event something happens. Long story short, good for the price and the addition of the wheels will make it perfect. Wheels are a old on Amazon. When I opened the box, there was no instruction sheet, and there were no nuts and bolts. I can't tell if all the parts are there, since there's no parts list. I have tried to contact the seller (just now). If I get the missing bits, I'll update the review, otherwise the whole thing goes back. Too bad, it looks like it might be a good rack if I could only put it together.Update: I contacted the seller who quickly responded and sent me the missing parts and a PDF of the instruction sheet. Assembly is dead simple and takes maybe 20 minutes. The rack seems sturdy and holds my kayaks well. I would have upgraded this to a five star rating, but the hardware bag that was sent was missing one screw. Fortunately, it is one of two, so I can find a match at the big box store. In addition, the parts sent (which I believe are the correct parts) don't match the parts list on the instruction sheet (two extra of one screw and two few of another). It's minor and I think what I got are the right screws, but that plus the missing hardware originally plus the missing piece of the quickly shipped bag of hardware speaks of a quality control issue by the vendor.I can recommend this rack if you are willing to risk a little annoyance.

I love this rack. I have two kayaks. One is small and meant for children or adults < 150#. The other is full size. I was concerned that the rack wouldn’t hold both since one is so much longer than the other but it does! I was also concerned that I wouldn’t be able to lift the kayaks onto the stand by myself as I’m a healthy 64 year old female but I managed to do it. It wasn’t hard just a little awkward. Lastly, I was a little concerned about it sticking out too far into the room but it takes up a lot less room than being on the floor and now I can use the blower to sweep out all the leaves that blow in when the garage door is open. I am very happy with this purchase.

This rack was purchased for garage storage of 2 thermoform kayaks that are about 13 feet long. Having a shallow depth of 22 inches was the selling point for me. The rack went together easily and it is sturdy and compact.

I was a little concerned because it arrived with a damaged box but all parts were present and in good condition! The instructions could absolutely be better that is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for assembly. That being said, I laid out all the parts and made sure I understood what was what and then I started. I had it together-by myself- in less than 35 minutes! The only slight confusion was the adjustable bar length-just deciding what length I should make it. Once done, appears very sturdy! Put our 2 -10 foot kayaks on the rack! Couldn't be happier right now!

This took me all of ten minutes to assemble. Very easy to adjust to your boats' sizes. Light enough to move yourself, and sturdy as can be. Doesn't tip or wobble when loading, even if you are working alone. Priced well also...
