Put them in but don’t take them out.
These fastener are great for Azek. Be sure the piece you have to attach isn’t floating because the screw needs to pull down hard to get deep enough for adding the plug over the fastener head. The screw shank changes to reverse threads right before the screw head to prevent puckering the azek surface when the head countersinks. But don’t try to take them out. It can ruin the hole amd surface quickly

Almost too simple.
Pretty sweet because the screws manage to carve out a perfectly clean hole for the plugs. This is quicker and easier than using a drill bit.I'm almost disappointed how simple the whole setup is because what did I just spend thirty bucks on?You just use the hex bit provided to drill the screws without a pilot hole, then pound in the plugs (preferably with a rubber mallet. Azek trim is two sided. Frontier is the side that looks like rough wood and traditional is the side that is flat. I used mine for Azek porch boards in Oyster, and I expect as they get dirty the colors will even out. For the porch boards, the grain is right, but I don't think they make plugs in Oyster because you only screw in from the top on the first and last board (but I also had first and last boards on each of the steps).Great system, but way too expensive to give five stars.

Set Screw ~ Set Plug ~ Beautifully Invisible!
Can't beat this excellent system for beautifully concealing screws holding new PVC trimaround our windows on our house and garage. This is a marvelous way to go. Coated 11/16 screws x 2 3/4". Each box comes with a setting tool, which is a#1 square hex bit, (with a 1/4" thick felt pad to not scuff the trim) which drives / counter sinks the screw to the correct depth. If careful ~ the setting tool generally lasts through the end of the box.The screws are sharp and rugged ~ no per-drilling is required. Then tap a PVC plug flush ~ done.No messy caulking to use / clean up / fall out / or show where the screws holes are.A box contains 75 screws ~ 100 plugs and is said to cover 50 lineal ft.~ based on two screws each 16".(Use three screws if boards are wider then 8") Screws are removable.Screws are good for board thickness 5/8" to 1 1/4"Warranty for the life of the product.Made in America.

Great Results - quick to use!
It comes out to about $0.6 per screw which is a bit pricey but the system is very easy to use and saves a lot of time in finishing screw holes. The depth control on the special driver works like a charm. I haven't used enough of the screws yet to know how well it will hold up over the full lot of fasteners that came with it The plugs fit snug and are easy to install.

Be sure to get correct style screw for your material.
I LOVED these screws. for years I have used them in many different trim materials with good success. IncludingOff-brand PVC, Miratec, and LP Smartside, This style is different. They are shorter 2" vs the 2-3/4" and have more threads on the neck just under the head. Over half of them do not seat and start to spin in the hole. This not only prevents you from using the plug but does not pull the trim down tight. The trim I'm using is 1"(actual 3/4") boards going into 2x6 pine or LVL material. I tried some of the old screws and they still work great. so I'm looking for the old style longer screws and just bought the last boxes they had at Menards. which they are discontinuing, so hopefully the new style won't continue to be the shorter ones that don't seat. It is possible that the AZEK is specific to AZEK only for screw style also and not just the plug, but this seems to be the style most stores carry. Are AZEK a true 1" board?? I never used it so cant say. In any case, if using in a different brand or material like Miratec then look for the old longer screws.

Easy hidden fasteners
These fasteners go in quick and easy. The plugs only need alignment if you are using the rough side out on the Azek trim. The driver bit did not last when I let my contractor use the fasteners. It would be nice to have a second driver bit so that one does not have an issue part way through using all of the screws.

These actually work.
I did have some problem sticking the little plugs in the holes. Could be because I have big hands. But when you do get them in it covers up the holes perfectly. I also found that the impact drill was a bit much for the screws and a regular drill worked better. Another problem I encountered was the little pads on the drill bit. They do fall off once in a while and finding them on the ground is not easy. I would suggest they make these out of red material.

This product is seems to be an awesome idea. I can only assume that the end result will be weather proof for my PVC trim boards. That being said, there is a learning curve and that's the main reason for my less than total endorsement for the fasteners. There must be ample grip in your sub framing so that the fastener doesn't sit and spin. You can't change your mind once you start, either. The heads tend to strip easily if you don't have a good seating of the drill bit. However, once you get the hang of things, the end result is beautiful I recommend looking at the instruction videos on YouTube.
