Likely capable multi function unit.
To begin with, I haven't jump started anything with this. I won't do that unless I actually need to do so. I don't doubt that it would perform well in that task.I have been trying to find a portable power source with a large battery to power my laptop and other devices off of while working in the field. I've quickly come to realize that all of the portable jump starters/multifunction devices are incredibly overrated as far as capacity. I though perhaps based on the physical size of this unit that it would be closer to the 36,000 mah rating that it advertises. Now I know this is unlikely due to the fact that a single 16,000 mah lipo battery for a drone can cost in excess of $300, but eh, I tried to keep my hopes up.Assuming they're claiming 36,000 mah at 3.7 volts, this should be a 133 watt hour battery. My laptop has a battery labeled as 45 watt hour, so 12,000 mah roughly. Even with an assumed losses of around 30% to convert up to 19v to power my laptop, this gadget SHOULD be able to give my laptop 2 full charges with some to spare.Twice I've drained my laptop to 4% (where it forcably shuts itself down) and used the Bril Power M1 to recharge it. Both times the laptop ends at 98% with the M1 fully drained. So it can very nearly, but not quite fully recharge my laptop once.Inside the unit you'll find two unlabled li-po battery packs. (I had to disassemble my unit because there was a loose screw inside rattling around inside.) The packs are taped in place, so I didn't try to pry them off and look for markings. I'd imagine that its a pair of 8,000 mah packs. It makes sense based on current prices of lipos against the cost of this unit and my relatively unscientific measurements of capacity.Another gripe I have is that the "laptop cord" it includes for using the DC output is approximately 6". Far too short to be useful for anything. I purchased a 2.1mm x 5.5mm 6 foot extension from Amazon to be able to use it with my laptop at all.As for the good. It is the only unit I saw that includes an on board cigarette lighter port without purchasing an ec5 adapter. The work light on the back is surprisingly bright and usable. The flashlight on the side is also bright and with a deep reflector has decent throw. I doubt I'd use it much due to the bulk of the unit, but for an emergency light it is quite nice.I don't see any mention of it on Amazon, but the unit also has an integrated thermometer in Celsius, and an onboard heater to warm the internal cells so you don't damage the batteries by trying to jump start when they're too cold. There was definitely some thought put into the basic design. It also has a VERY CHEAP no-fluid compass integrated into the top of the handle. It mostly points North.I mostly like the gadget. One star deducted for grossly over inflated capacity claims, and one star deducted because I had to take it apart to get the loose screw out.
