Replaced a Nine-Year-Old RV CO Detector
This X-Sense Carbon Monoxide Detector Alarm 10-Year Battery was purchased as a replacement. When I bought my motorhome in 2012 the factory-installed bedroom CO detector would not stop beeping, even when new batteries were installed. I finally found and installed an exact replacement for it, which was described as "specifically for RV installation." It was expensive, sensitive and worked well until recently. When it began beeping even with new batteries I searched for a replacement but that original model was no longer available. This carbon monoxide detector appeared to be promising, especially claiming to include a 10-year battery. Although this model is more expensive than other detectors being offered on Amazon I wanted one that would be sensitive and reliable and was willing to pay more.Using the supplied screws, I mounted this detector at the same place on my motorhome ceiling as the previous one that I had removed. This model uses a separate lightweight mounting ring then the detector snaps securely onto the mounting ring. Removing the old detector and replacing it with this new one too me no more than five minutes, using my Philips head impact tool.Opening my motorhome's door, to allow some the engine exhaust enter, proved that this detector was equally as sensitive as my previous one. Since I have only recently installed this unit I cannot comment on the claimed 10-year battery but it was nice to NOT to need to buy batteries for it separately. Since my motorhome has several potential sources of carbon monoxide, I feel much more secure camping with two working CO detectors. This one is in the bedroom. I have a different model CO detector and a smoke detector in the living room.

Newer Updated Carbon monoxide Model
I needed to have one in my condo unit for an appraisal. So I looked into several different models and read tons of reviews. One thing that stuck out as I was reading the reviews and descriptions of the different models were the shelf life of these units. I’ve read a few that it’s important the model that you buy is sufficient for how big your house is and the location of appliances that requires a gas line. So a dryer or water heater or gas stove. Since I only needed one for my dryer I decided to really looked on the fine print on Amazon page to see when the item was first listed on the site. That would give some clue as to the turn around time when these units have been sold. The next is a battery/outlet unit or simply a battery unit. I found that with the life of these units last between 7 to 10 years before these needed to be replaced especially ones with built in battery unit. This in turn is useful so that I don’t forget to replace the battery although some units will beep until a new battery is replaced. So that was my decision, I’ve been in my condo for 13 years now with just a gas line to my dryer so thank goodness no major hiccup. I have a Kidde smoke detector but was uncertain if it also has a carbon monoxide unit combination. So I looked and read the reviews, the reason I picked this one because the panel to read the level of CO before it is elevated to dangerous level. But since it’s been safe since installed, I can’t review the performance. But it beep really loud when tested. And also the date on the unit was from June of 2020, I have a good tens years before replacing it without worrying about replacing it with the standard battery. The price is reasonable compared to the non-digital units selling at the local hardware store. I say the price here is way better with the additional discount received. Overall, recommend it if you’re like me who don’t want to Check on the battery every few months.

Something I hope I never have to worry about
With the addition of a new little one, rooms are being reorganized. What was once a junk/overflow room, is now going to be the room for my littlest one. In doing this arduous process of rearranging, I have been testing old smoke alarms and considering other types of alerts/detectors. For this reason, I decided I needed an additional CO2 detector in my house. The brand I had previously bought, I cannot find anymore, so I decided to look elsewhere and come to my favorite store, Amazon!Having been spoiled by my 10 year smoke detector, I knew that was the first feature I wanted in a CO2 detector, long battery life. I don't want to have to worry about batteries failing or forgetting to replace them, so that helped narrow the search down. Next, I wanted one that had an easy to read digital display. If there's a trace of CO2 in my house I want to know about it! Lastly, I wanted something that was easy for my kids to communicate to me. If I ask them, what's the number on the meter, they might not be able to tell me or say it wrong. If I ask what the color is? They can tell me green, red, or yellow, and I'll know what it means! After purchasing this one, that met all my specifications, I easily cut it on and installed it. In my short time with it, I have had no complaints, and it appears to be functioning as intended. My CO2 level is at zero, and hopefully, I never have to see any number other than zero. Next time, I buy one of these (10 years from now), I would buy this one again, but also buy it with a built in smoke detector too, 2 birds with one stone. Overall, pleased with the product!

Presque parfait
Très bon produit. Malheureusement, il n'y avait pas de mode d'emploi dans mon coli. J'ai cherché un peu sur le net et c'est réglé
