The media could not be loaded.  I finally found a way to keep the floaters from rising to the top. The attached video doesn't show it but I added salt water and a drop of olive oil (the oil was not mentioned in the instructions to this product) I'll attach a photo of the finished product. Much better then a weight. I used various products in conjunction with weights to try to keep floaters from coming to the top. And those floaters can ruin a batch (mold). It seems really sturdy, but I'll revise as necessary.

Works well for quart jars. Unfortunately I was expecting it to fit snugly inside 2-quart jars, which it doesn't. It would be perfect if it was available in an additional, larger size. Instead I found a pottery seller on Etsy, who makes porcelain weights, sized for 2-quart jars. That seems to be the ONLY available option that I have found,which seems odd.

I thought this was going to solve all my problems, but the product is not large enough to effectively work in a 1/2 gallon mason jar. I've been trying to learn to make fermented foods at home and after reading many articles, It would seem that the 1/2 gallon mason jar is the closest thing to a standard fermenting container. Yet this product does not fit the standard fermenting container. Not really any more effective than the glass weights I was using prior.

These work great, but get really stinky after the ferment. I washed & put them away in a cabinet, but kept smelling something throughout the house. Finally discovered it was the pickle pushers!!

Outperforms every fermentation gadget I've ever tried! You can use this with any type of airlock. The silicone keeps every little scrap of veggie submerged. Doesn't take up any more depth than the neck of the canning jar. Maintains excellent downward pressure. Clever design!!!
