Just When You Think .....
Just when you think Tim Weaver has written the best book he possibly can, you go and buy his next book, sit down to read it, and discover this one ... This book is amazing on so many different levels, it has so many different character developments and tangents of the story criss crossing each other, that you can barely wait to turn the next page. Everything in this book works tremendously well, you feel for the people your reading about, and they don't just come alive on the page, they jump out, grab you by the throat and drag you along for the ride. If you have read his prior books or not, it doesn't matter, this is primarily a standalone dramatic PI thriller that you just have to read, so stop reading what I'm typing and go and buy the darn book ! It will be your best read of 2016 ! Thank you Mr Weaver for yet another wonderful book that I hated turning the final page on.

Good, but...
British missing person investigator David Raker receives a call from America from a women who says her sister, Lynda Korin, has been missing for 10 months and the police have been unable to find her. She was captured on CCTV entering a seaside park. Although there was only one way out, there was nothing on CCTV showing Korin leaving the park. There is no obvious reason for Korin to disappear and no evidence of foul play. For most of the first half of the book, Raker is engaged in a very interesting investigation. The second half is less engrossing. There is too much technical information about film and different charaters repeat the same story at great length. There are a few surprises, but the book drags.

Another great novel from Tim Weaver
Another great novel from Tim Weaver. I love the way the plot develops from seemingly no clues. He clearly researches his subject thoroughly. At the end I wasn't totally convinced it was fiction after all. Only small downside is the violence that always seems to catch Raker unaware. I have now read all of his books and eagerly look forward to his next.

Tim Weaver Doesn't Disappoint
Another solid Tim Weaver book. A little formulaic but I kept turning the pages as I did for all his previous books.

Disappointing
I've read all of the previous books in the David Raker series and, although it did take me a book or two to really get into them, I have generally enjoyed these books. Yes, they are far fetched and often beyond any kind of reasonable comprehension but they are interesting and entertaining, as books should be. They leave me wanting more. This, I'm sorry to say, is obviously Tim Weaver's black sheep. It is so unbelievably dull I can't believe it was written by the same person as the previous novels. The side story of an historic unsolved crime and the recurring movie scene sparked my interest, but otherwise this is mostly twaddle. I don't know if the author is trying to advertise himself as a bit of a film buff or he was simply short of inspiration on this occasion. Either way, this was a tedious read. Hope Tim returns to form with Raker's next outing.

TIM WEAVER FANATIC
Who in the world can say that this book was dull. I started reading Tim Weaver's books during lockdown. Richard & Judy's recommendation of No One's Home. Now I am on my 6th book in the series. Really want to start at No 1 and read them all again. It's brilliant the way characters slip in and out of storylines - Melanie Craw, Colm Healy, Bryan Kennedy and how previous cases are referred to when you have to try and think back to which one it was. Lynda Korin disappears one day, visits a beauty spot but never leaves, or did she?. Her sister in the US enlists Raker's help in finding her. The twists and turns, 50 year old cases that the police never solved - where's the connection with Ring of Roses. Intrigued when Raker ends up in Cumbria where I live. Said it before - if you've never read Tim Weaver's book about Raker. Do so, you too will be hooked!

Rather long winded
I recently purchased the Tim Weaver collection. However, I was most disappointed with Broken Heart. It started of quite interesting up until I read to page 450. I got bored because I that the whole story was long winded. It is nowhere as interesting as other Tim Weaver books I had read but I did think I would try his collection. I am generally interested in Forensics and true detective/crime books.

Absolutely Brilliant.
Yet another fantastic book by Tim. I've waited what's felt like forever for this next Raker instalment to come out and yet again I've read it so fast I'm devastated it's finished. Gripping from start to finish and I'm completely distraught that I'm gonna have to wait again for the next one. Brilliant storyline and I just love the way Tim writes his books. I love Raker and the person that he is. I think I might start from book 1 again and maybe by the time I get back to this one book 8 will be out.

Another fast page turner
I literally couldn't put this book down. There were so many twists and turns. I really like the David Raker stories, he walks where angels fear to tread. I see a slight similarity between David Raker and Michael Connolly's Harry Bosch, another favourite of mine, in that they are both Men on a Mission and all people matter.
