Art Deco Collection Celestial Sun Decorative Secret Storage Book Box

I totally feel catfished. The photo of this box on amazon looks like there is almost a metallic sheen to it. It looks magical. In actuality there is no such sheen to it nor is there any magical charm. It is a dull brown with hints of burgundy. There is the sun design but it doesn't pop. The back has no embellushments other than some slight texruring. The spine has more of the sin motif but it is subdued.Several of the reviews raved of how easily astonished they were that a rectangular shaped object like a box could resemble an object of a similar shape like a book. They're either was another more realistic looking version of this box at one time ( perhaps that looked like the picture) or these easily entertained individuals have never actually been within three feet of an actual book because this box does not look like a book. It is very obviously a box and the pages are a dead giveaway in their uniformity. this was never important to me and if the box look like the picture I wouldn't have cared but honestly people I do not see how you think this looks like a real book and it scares me that the literacy rate in American society has gotten so bad people now don't even know what a book looks like much less read one.The box is also not lined in red. It is lined in a reddish brown that is honestly quite ugly and is only another further disappointment with this box.This box is honestly hideous. I really can't think of anything nice to say about this box other than that it probably does function as a box and you could indeed put something inside of it and it would hold it. Kudos.This box is that grindr profile you spend hours getting ready for only to turn it away in less than two minutes when it shows up at the door looking nothing like the pics he sent.Yes I totally got catfished with this box. Do not buy it. I do not see how you could enjoy it. The seller needs to put up accurate photos of the box and provide basic information like the interior Dimensions, which I nearly was going to list here but I'm not because I don't want to encourage people to buy this box.Thankfully just as I can send the catfish Grindr profile away, I can return this box for a full refund which is what I'm doing.

Had to take 1 star off. There is no metallic detailing like as pictured, but is still a nice book box. It is solid brown. Interior is a nice felt like material. Exterior design is embossed unlike cheaper book boxes that I have purchased which were just printed designs on glossy paper.

I've had this a short time. The only thing I'm unsure about is if someone opens the lid too far back, like a normal book. The inside felt paper spine may tear. Maybe there's a way of preventing or covering that if it happens.Other than that, this has a real nice traditional cover just like a quality leather hardbound book with many interesting well placed, beautifully intricate and flawlessly embossed designs on the outside front cover and spine. The simulated pages look like the thick sectioned rough cut pages I sometimes see from old fashioned antique books, yet the entire piece looks well preserved. The embedded magnetic stud catches with perfect closure and holds well. Nice work!

I just love my new book shaped box, I decided to take a chance on this because one reviewer said he felt catfished ,well not sure what he got but my book I lovely . I took a few pictures and I love all the details , it’s a pretty dark gray and holds all my remotes.

Art Deco Collection Celestial Sun Decorative Secret Storage Book Box  I am very pleased with this sturdy box. It's very well-made and the cover looks just like tooled leather. The inside is nicely finished in a red cloth with a sueded texture, nicer than the arts and crafts type felt I was expecting. It looks just like a book. I got it to hold a set of expensive Japanese chopsticks, 10 in all, to give to my son-in-law for Christmas and I couldn't be more pleased.

I wanted something to hold remotes and this book safe is good for that purpose. I had to remove a star because the book is not the same color, and you cant see the relief as well as the picture. Obviously someone turned the contrast way up on the picture, because the book is a brown color and the decorations are barely visible.

The book box is gorgeous & will make a lovely gift!

I was looking for a dark brown book safe. In the description it is something between blue and green. Thanks to other reviews about the true color I ordered it. For me it works great! Absolutely as I wanted.
