Hunter Fan Company Casablanca Aris Indoor / Outdoor Ceiling Fan with Wall Control

I bought 5 fans $2k - 1 doesn’t work at all. The other 4 only work on 1 setting. Feels like we were sold a substandard product. I’ve never given a review before but had to as they are clearly worse fans ever!!!!! Wasted $1k on electrician to install them. Of course the purchase is over the 30 day return period as we were having work done on our home. BIG mistake buying these fans.

ProsPerformance: This fan moves some serious air in my 19'x19' living room. This is a replacement for an older fan and it's windy/cooling range seems to extend 5 more feet from where the old fan used to.Installation: It's been about 5 years since I've installed a ceiling fan, but I was impressed by the instructions and the very clearly labeled separated parts packages. The difficulty of installation is comparable to any other fan I've installed.Part Quality: During even the assembly phase the quality of the pieces of this fan ooze well built nice looks. Now, with it pushing air at me as I type this, it just plain looks good.Customer Service: I made 1 call to customer service before I bought the fan to clear up one question specific to my situation/needs. I was connected with a person that knowledgeably answered my questions in less than 3 minutes. I'm pretty impressed with that.ConsRemote: I did buy an extra true remote ( Casablanca Fan Company 99020 Universal 4 Speed Reversing Handheld Remote Control ) since the included "remote" is an in-wall "remote". Is the included "remote" wireless? Yeah. Can I use it from my couch? Not without it looking kinda awkward (See my picture and you will see the clunky wall unit vs the true remote I purchased). I wish the nicer true remote was included.

Installation was moderate to easy. Fan operates but only in reverse and at highest speed so wiring is correct but wall remote control would not sync with receiver. I called Casablanca/Hunter technical support to verify wiring is correct. Tech support walked me through resetting the controller and sync with receive. No good after several attempts. Tech support is sending me a new wall remote. This is fine, but it may not be the wall remote...it could be the receiver. They should have sent both new receiver and wall remote controller. This means I may have to wait to get the receiver if the second replacement wall remote does not work. I only have 15 days to return and the clock is ticking. Note: The fan is beautiful, mechanically well made, but the electronics are questionable. UPDATE: 4/13/21. Casablanca tech support sent me a new receiver. I installed it and everything works fine now. Upgraded my one star to two three stars. They lost two star for my inconvenience.

I got a great price for this, it being an open box. I had an existing ceiling fan that had large palm leaves looking fan blades. My wife hated it and bought some universal fan blades too swap them out. Became noisy and out of balance. (Great idea sweetie! Now lets update that life insurance policy, while you attempt being an electrician!)Anyhow, I took out the old one and installed the new one. It's kinda of a pain in the azz, but i got it up and working in a couple of days. I even bought a light fixture (Casablanca 99091 Outdoor 4 Light Fixture, Maiden Bronze ) too go with it too! This was all for my wife's birthday, she loves it, and it's quiet. If you have some basic handy skills, you can install this if you're replacing another fan. Otherwise, get an electrician (I don't suggest my wife) and do everything else if you're on a budget.
