High Quality, great pack for the beach or sight seeing
This is my report of our SPECIFIC USE of this pack.First up QUALITY. This pouch is very well made. High quality material and double stitching. Velcro is also heavy duty that will last for years. FIVE STARSSecond, wearing the pouch. The pouch has a built in loop to run your belt through and is big enough to fit a very wide belt. If you can get the belt though the loops on your pants, you will have no problem running your belt through this pouch. FIVE STARSSpecific Use. Purchased this pack to use on a 12 day cruise where we would be doing 6-8 hour sight seeing trips at different ports of call. My specific need was a pack that would hold my panasonic point and shoot camera, an extra battery, extra memory card as well as hand sanitizer and some tissues. This pack allowed me to carry all these items with a little room to spare. FIVE STARSPLEASE NOTE - - - This pack is a great alternative to a ¨Fanny pack¨. I specifically did NOT want a fanny pack while doing the tourist thing in foreign cities for one reason. Thieves call the fanny packs ¨One stop shopping¨. This maxpedition pack doesn't draw any attention and doesn't scream TOURIST.In summary, this is a pack that in my opinion, you NEED to have a very good idea of what you want to use it for before you buy it. If you don't put some serious consideration as to what you want to use it for, you might not be happy with your purchase. In my opinion, it is a bit big for every day wear but GREAT if you are going to an amusement park or sight seeing and want to carry a cell phone, camera, or any number of items but don't want or need a larger fanny pack. One thing is for sure, this pack will last you for many many years, given the high quality of materials used to make it. YOu won't have to worry about stitching coming apart or the material tearing. THIS IS ONE TOUGH POUCH !

Great little bag!
I purchased this to wear while I ride my motorcycle but have found many other occasions where it's become useful. I wear it in the woods to prevent the loss of items while doing labor like putting up a deer stand, it's great when you take your family to an amusement park to prevent theft or loss of items (the large pocket can easily accommodate a normal size digital camera). It's sturdy nylon and is almost identical to the MOLLE items I wore on my rig before I retired from military service (it actually has the MOLLE style mounting system in the back as well as the belt loop). The zippers have nylon (550) cord tied off for easy opening, and the smaller forward pocket is secured with an adjustable fastex fastener with an elastic draw string to compress items if need be.I can easily place a thin wallet with keys in the front pocket leaving the large pocket open for either my cell phone or a micro pistol (I can easily put a Ruger LCP .380 in there with room to spare). I would however say that you'd be hard pressed to place both a phone and a pistol in there depending on the size of either. If you carry a lot of items in your pockets like I do, I'd strongly recommended this product.

After hours of reading and watching vids, this turned out perfect.
So when looking into the whole 'EDC' phenomenon, which I fell into as I was looking into options for something like a 'belt-pouch', I came across this along with the bazillion other similar models from Maxpedition. My purpose was to move everything from my pockets to a compact pouch I wanted to wear on my belt. Max's EDC pouches seemed good at first, but they opened sideways (from a belt), and also needed modification to wear on a belt. The H-1 was another option, but it was velcro only, and I wanted a secure snap. The M-2 looked good but maybe too small. I was also worried that this M-1 might be too big (look stupid and get in the way), and then I was worried that it might be too small for ~everything~ I carry.Got it in the mail today, and it's awesome. It looks great and has great construction (of course, from Maxpedition). I got the foliage color which was on sale. The belt loop is very stout. AND ... I was able to fit all of my 'pocketries' with a little room to spare. Doesn't stand out--looks like a camera case or something. Doesn't look dorky, but maybe it just doesn't look dorky to me. ;)Was able to fit:Front- Wallet- Blackberry Bold 9700 with armorBack main- Keys- Pens- Comb- Knife- Chap-stick- Business card holder with biz cards and rarely-used plastic cards- Some folded up paperworkI'm not using up all of the space. I'd like to still fit a pocket notebook in there, a tiny nail clipper, and maybe a thin flashlight. Pretty comfortable, but it'll take some getting used to to wear it all the time. I intend to modify it by attaching a cut piece of soft Velcro to the hook side of the flap Velcro, rendering said Velcro nonoperational. (Don't want to hear RIIIIIIIIPPPPP every time I have to access my phone or wallet. The clip is sufficient.) Currently not using the 'secret belt loop pouch', or the small front zippered pouch. It'd be nice if it had some outer pen-holder-loops like the M-2. The pens inside the main pouch will slow down getting to my keys, which will be a problem if I'm ever trying to escape a raging werewolf by quickly getting into my car. This will work well for carrying stuff on a belt. I'm glad I got the M-1 instead of another model.

Great chew toy
I really can't give more than 3 star's since I didn't actually get to do more than load it up before the dog ate it. I bought this bag and the m2 for comparison. It must be tough because it took at least an hour for my 7mo old dog was able to chew the strap off the front then chewed the side out of the front pocket. 1st impression is good quality but not a fan of the velcroe and snap. I like the m2 since I can access it with out the load tearing noise. Inwas going to use the m1 for camping as a personal survival odds and ends bag. It held magniesium fire starter multitool ect and had plenty of room for more.
