I will be buried with my Bahco 142
I just purchased this pipe wrench, and it is a fantastic tool. Every American should consider switching to this style of pipe wrench for most needs, because it really does set a better grip than our classic form. I can see occasions where that classic may be preferable, but most of the time the immediately setting grip on this tool will be preferable. There is some confusion about where this one is made. Bahco is a Swedish company owned by Snap-On, and is the premier brand of the group in Europe. Bahco makes a version of this wrench for Snap-on in Argentina. The Bahco purchased from Amazon-this tool as I received it- was made in Spain. The PWZ- series from snap-onis this wrench but with an ergonomic grip- in the Bahco brand it is sold under the 14-- line. Snap-on sells that grip and its name at a 50% markup on its website.Personally, thats not a price I can get behind. If you can get a deal from a snap-on dealer, jump on it. But if you want to pay a premium for warranty, I really wouldn't bother- you or your workpiece will break before this tool does.

Well made
This thing is more handy than I hoped. Less cumbersome than a traditional pipe wrench especially when working on cars. But good for most use where you need a pipe wrench.

Great for me but not for everyone.
Takes some getting used to but now it is now my go to pipe wrench for most applications. I'm an apprentice plumber and needed some different sized pipe wrenches. I decided to get a Swedish style wrench based on reviews. Not everyone will like this wrench. The master plumber whom I work for is of Swedish ancestry does not care for it, But interestingly will borrow it in certain circumstances.Pros: It is steel but light weight, feels lighter than traditional aluminum wrenches. The head is smaller and narrower than a typical plumbing wrench which allows it to work with close fittings or tight areas that a traditional wrench can't. The threaded rod and nut adjusts the wrench much faster than a traditional spiral adjustment. The wrench looks like a set of pliers. The hardest thing to learn is that you do not have to squeeze both handles while using, just a push on the back handles is all you need. But squeezing both handles gives you extra grip for locked tight fittings. Despite its looks this will not replace pliers but can be used as such in many cases. The flat jaws are great for straitening bent overflow pans, saw blades, and other small items.Cons: The handles are not very thick or solid. You can't add pipe at the end for extra torque. I have stepped on the curved back handle on some tricky fittings and not bent or the broke the wrench but am careful not to slam it with my foot. I will typically use a traditional pipe wrench for exceptionally stuck fittings. Keeping the jaws open with one hand takes practice and is not always easy if the wrench is not holding something. This will not replace a traditional pipe wrench 3% of the time.I'd recommend buying this wrench if you want a light weight tool that can be used to separate close fittings, is quick to adjust. I would not recommend this tool to someone who wants to avoid carrying extra tools or doesn't care to learn a new tool.

Angry pliers
Recommended by Rainman Ray Repairs, witnessing his repeated use of these is what lead me to by this brand.

Identical to the expensive ones...easily just as good!
This pipe wrench is the same design, look, and structure as the expensive ones that come off a truck. If brand names bother you, don't buy these; but, if you want equal quality for way less money, these are the pliers are for you!

Smaller than I thought but will work for small places

Nice pliers
It was a little getting used to comparing to other pliers because the part that's normally stationary on other pliers is the adjustable part of these pliers, by design. Has plenty of grip, long enough for leverage. I used them to remove a couple inner tie rods. Very happy with them. Great quality!

How they saved me
Was pulling a harmonic balancer pulley( 2002 Chevy Trailblazer) and could not stop the pulley from moving when trying to remove said bolt. I used the Universal Pipe Wrench to grab onto one of the edges of the pulley and hold it still and with some leverage got the bolt removed. It worked well and really did when time to re-install the bolt. Same drill but in reverse fashion. I hope the pics explain this better than I can.

Super eficiente
