Tempo is a wireless environment monitor for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets that is incredibly easy to use and quick to set up. Tempo does not require cables, plugs, wifi or an internet account. Simply take it out of the box, turn it on, download the free apps and done! It cannot be simpler or quicker. Tempo is compatible with iOS and Android devices that operate iOS 7 or Android 4.3 and later operating systems and that are Bluetooth Smart enabled. With Tempo Anywhere web access is available through any web browser (sold separately). Tempo has an incredibly stylish organic shape and is made from highly polished polycarbonate. It not only looks gorgeous in the home it is also robust for business use and weatherproof for the outdoors. Be warned though, its shape is so compelling you and others won't be able to stop from touching it. Tempo has a range of powerful features usually reserved for more expensive devices. It continously monitors temperature, humidity and barometric pressure from an array of sensors that can be separately configured and transmits the data to users' smartphones when they are in range. At the same time Tempo logs and timestamps the values in its memory for up to 30 days providing a history of the temperature, humidity and barometric pressure which can be downloaded to any user's smartphone when they are next in range. Also the data logging frequency is user changeable to be as frequent as every 5 minutes. Using Bluetooth Smart technology, Tempo has a range in excess of 150 feet (50 meters) line of sight and a range of 15 - 50 feet (5 - 15 metres) indoors or with obstacles is typical. It is powered by 2AA batteries that come included and last approximately 9 months and are easily changeable.

Limited documentation, poor app design, but quite functional nonetheless.
I wanted to monitor the temp and humidity in my basement so I know whether to adjust the environment for my guitars. I could have gotten the cheap, 10-dollar hygrometer, but I thought to myself, "Self, this is a nice little gadget. Let's give it a whirl." I'm pretty much half-pleased with it, but I give it four stars because I haven't really tried to take advantage of all the things it can do.What I really want is a way to check the humidity and temp in my basement without having to trudge down there. If I stand upstairs within a relatively short distance of the unit, and use my phone to try to talk to the device, it works most of the time. If I stand in the room directly above it, it works almost all the time. If I'm one room over, it works maybe 50% of the time. So yeah, there's a proximity limitation, as one would expect. What are you going to do? It works on bluetooth, right? Range is going to be limited.I'd like to have an easier and more intuitive way to look at the history and graphs and stuff, but the interface on the app is pretty abysmal. Looking for documentation on how to use this? You're kind of on your own, bud. If you don't mind tinkering, you can probably figure it out. I haven't felt inclined to do it yet.Still, it's a nice little device, takes up very little space, and seems to be pretty good at its job. It actually speaks volumes for the engineering of the device and app that there's so little documentation, yet I can make the device work for what I need it for.

Great for space with limited variation
The Tempo monitor is excellent for its intended purpose - tracking temperature and humidity in a space with only moderate variation. (A tiny hole in the bottom of the unit allowing outside air to enter the Tempo limits its ability to respond to large or quick changes in humidity.) My use in an outdoor structure with large and regular changes in temperature and humidity wasn't an ideal venue. I remedied this by removing the top cover, screwing the screws into the top, and placing it loosely over the bottom so that there was a narrow gap between top and bottom. With this variation the Tempo reports temperature and humidity reliably and accurately. The iOS app is excellent in downloading and displaying the data.Customer support for both the app and the Tempo was prompt and knowledgeable. I couldn't have asked for quicker or more helpful responses. It was a please to communicate with them. I'd like to see Blue Maestro bring out some other Bluetooth wireless weather monitoring devices.

No instructions.
My dad had no idea how to use this. It has no instructions and it's the worst gift I've ever given him.
