Trope Chicago

I'm not a big fan of photography books, but when I saw this one, I fell in love! The paper is good quality, and the photographs are done in such a way that they feel cohesive, even though they are by different photographers. I have purchased this book as a gift, and recommended it to people to buy as a chicago momento. It shows Chicago in all it's moods - the windy winters, the foggy/rainy day springs. The way the city lights permeate the snow storms, and all the seasons of the lake. I tell everyone that if I ever move out of Chicago, this is the ONLY book I want to have to remind me of this city.

We gifted to friends who moved away from Chicago. They loved the book and spent an afternoon flipping through pages and calling out their favorite haunts. I purchased a second copy for my home. It's a beautiful piece filled with glorious photos of the city and surrounding areas and delightful snippets of Chicago architecture and history. Hardcover with lay-flat binding makes this the perfect feature to leave out on a coffee table and invites those nearby to flip through its pages.

I got this for my boyfriend since one of our most special trips was to Chicago and he loved it. The material es really good and it is an amazing book.Great for a center table too!

Bought this as a guestbook for our wedding. It is definitely dark and moody, but that's what we liked about it. I also liked the matte pages. The imagery is beautiful and I like the break out of the different areas - note, it focuses on the downtown areas.

Great for those who love Chicago or want to know more about this city

Ich bin zugegebenermaßen kein großer Fan von Bildbändern, aber als ich diesen in einem Souveniershop in Chicagoer Hancock-Tower gesehen und drin geblättert habe, war ich echt geflashed und musste mir diesen dann in Deutschland direkt bestellen (er ist sehr dick und schwer). Enthalten sind echt tolle Bilder, welche teilweise recht stark bearbeitet sind, für Puristen vielleicht eher weniger geeignet, aber meinen Geschmack hat es voll getroffen. Mein erster Bildband, top!

This is an amazing book with breathtaking pictures of Chicago. I was suspired by the high quality of the book compared to the moderate price. This is a great coffee table book and another reason for me to visit Sweet Home Chicago soon.
