PatriotP10 Dual Purpose Electric Fence Energizer, 1.0 Joule

This is the fence we have around our chicken fortress. We live in the Colorado Rockies at 9200ft elevation and regularly have bears, foxes, coyotes and mountain lions in the area. Our chickens have been safe and sound with the 10K volts this can deliver. We power it with a battery run off of solar and it does great and uses minimal power! We have had several bears, who do not shy away from motion sensor lights, try and break down the door just to get an unexpected shock that sends them running/growling. So far this has been perfect for protecting our chickens and eggs from many hungry predators. *No bears have been seriously injured, just shocked and scared.

I have many of these, the oldest have lasted over three years, being completely trouble free. have had no problem with water or weather, easy hook up, and so far the bears have not breached the containment field. price was excellent and it arrived in two days, no damage. amazon go it to me faster and for a cheaper price than it would have taken me to find it and get it locally.

The unit requires a solid ground rod to work properly. Only 600 volts with a short ground rod on initial install. After pounding in a 6 foot ground rod the voltage was up to 9k volts. Use good electrical connections and it works great.

Good output when connected to 12V battery. Seeing 9.9kV on the hot wire with my Zareba tester (a must-have!).The only option for hanging the energizer are a small, shallow "keyhole" shape for hanging on a small screw or nail and a slot in the back for clipping onto a fence wire. The keyhole slot is so small it is useless.I tried the slot in the back and it was not secure enough - the energizer fell off the wire while connecting the battery leads. Needs a better option for hanging on a T-Post. Hope it lasts longer than my last battery powered unit from Zareba (just over 2 years).

I am using this with a solar charger and car battery on my feed plot. I have two strands of wire around the outside of my fenced in feed plot. One about six inches off the ground and another a foot above that. It is doing a great job of keeping the coons, squirrels, and hogs off my corn

Has been installed for about a month now with no problems. Does the job, strong shock, make sure to ground properly.

I ordered this in April and it stopped delivering a charge in July. I tried all the recommended troubleshooting procedures, and couldn't get it to work. It is my 3 charger like this, I've never had any problems with the others that I've purchased, so I know that I am using it correctly. I reached out to the seller a few weeks ago to resolve this and got no response back.

Realitively compact and seems to work although I don't have amy hands on experience. It sends a pulse every 1.5 seconds and when I checked the voltage at 2000 feet down line from the charger it gave a reading of 6800 volts. I am running it with a trolling motor battery and a 10 watt solor panel keeps the battery fully charged on sunny days.

I've been using my P10 since 2021 and it works excellent... Keeps the bears away and my bee hives safe. Use a 200w solar panels to keep the deep cycle battery topped up. We can get a lot of rain and cloudy days, so to be effective the battery must be properly charged. Heard bears,racoons and other wildlife scream or moan if they touch the fence. Been zapped a few times too and it ain't pleasant. It's doing what it should be doing.
