Clara Caterpillar

This book is a favorite of mine to teach kids about the cycle of butterflies and it touches on caring for others.

I love this story. It encourages happiness with self and being kind to those who aren’t always. Being a thermostat instead of a thermometer. And it has my girls name.

My review is summed up by my title, I love this book. My daughters and I had borrowed it from the library and we liked it so much that we looked for it online so that we could purchase it. I love how Ms. Edwards uses so many "c" words to tell the story of Clara the courageous caterpillar. Her books like this are fun to read and help children (and some adults)to enhance their vocabulary.

I bought this book for my soon to be 4 year old son. We just finished learning about a butterfly's life cycle, and I thought this book would be appropriate for our topic. He really liked the book and illustrations. The story has a very important message, i liked the morale of the story. I then bought the same book for my niece.

My 2 year old loves this book already. I actually enjoy reading it...time and time again. It has a very nice point in it and I like the drawings. I sometimes find some of the pictures in books are a bit dark and/or uninteresting. The artwork in this one is friendly and fun. We love it.

This book was perfect for a little girl named Clara. The story itself was cute and aimed to teach young readers that they are perfect the way they are BUT some words were overly complicated for young children. As an adult reading a story like this even, I thought the alliteration was too much and detracted from the cute little story. Clara caterpillar was completely complicated causing confusion for common children.

We love to buy our kids books with their names in the titles. Unfortunately for our daughter Clara, that was tough. This book is very fun to read and the kids love the rhythmic nature of the story. The pictures are great and the story is well written.
