Insightful and stimulating, Fantastic read
The quality of the book itself is very nice, well printed, and arrived in great condition. As for the content, the way Teodros is able to masterfully organize and present Zara Yacob's beliefs and findings makes this book such a smooth read. He offers so much in terms of his own interpretation as well as presenting other views, such as those of Descartes, to bring all the concepts into focus by adding context. No matter who you are or what your beliefs, I believe every reader can find something enriching in this book to carry with them.

Captivating read!
I went into this not knowing anything about Zara Jacob, and came out with a good understanding of him and his philosophy. I never found it a difficult read. Teodros has a way of writing in a way that is easy to understand and keeps you engaged. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of an often overlooked philosopher.

10/10 would recommend
I read this for a philosophy class with Teodros, and I have not enjoyed a book for a class this much in years and years. I did not know anything about Ethiopian philosophy or Zara Yacob, and Teodros explained it in an eloquent and concise style one will not find just anywhere. I found this book informative, profound, and thought-provoking and I would recommend it to anyone.

Rationality of the Human Heart
information on Classical Ethiopian Philosophy and the more modernist philosophy of Zara Yacob is well presented, and distinction between scientific rationality and rationality of the human heart is made increasingly clear throughout the reading.

Superb
In "Rationality of the Human Heart", Kiros brilliantly explores the thought of Zara Yacob, perhaps the greatest African philosopher of antiquity. With a unique voice and insight, Kiros proves to be a great thinker and writer himself. The book is engaging, providing methodical dissection and interpretation without feeling belaboring. Yacob and Kiros represent the best of Ethiopian philosophy, past and present.

A must-read during the recent times
Teodros writes in a compelling fashion, giving light to the ideas of Zara Yacob in regards to thinking from the heart, virtue and a personal relationship to God. The philosophy is eye-opening, and put into great context by comparing it to Descartes' approach to similar concepts.

Important Work that's Easy to Follow
Never heard of Zara Yacob before reading this book and I am shocked that he is not discussed more in the philosophical community. Kiros give a clear breakdown of Yacob's thoughts, in a way any new reader could understand.

A must for Ethiopianists
The book is not actually the works of Zara Yacob, the Ethiopian philosopher, but a detailed, engaging and interesting study / analysis / reflection on his works. Far from being a down side, it's an advantage, as Teodros Kiros puts his words and message in context to the turbulent period Ethiopia was living at the time.Well written, superbly interesting ideas and a critique on Zara Yacob as an African philosopher.
