Has Some Issues But Is Overall Okay
It is fairly easy to assemble. You need a solid surface to sit it on. So plan on an additional cost for that depending what location you’re putting it in. If you plan on attaching a hose to the spigot, you will need to purchase a quick connector. And it leaks around that spigot so plan on buying plumbers goop to fix that. I purchased this to set up an automatic watering system for my garden while on vacation. I have yet to set it up because of the above problems. It seems that once it is set up it will serve it’s purpose. It holds plenty of water and should last for the purpose as long as there are no leaks. One of the supports bent once it was filled with water but does not affect the container from holding water without collapsing, time will tell how long though.UPDATE: You can attach a hose or in my case, a timer, without buying fittings. See my attached photos. The spigot can be uncrewed at the nipple part and then simply screw in whatever you’re using, in my case a timer.

Great if on flat, sturdy surface!
Love this for a cheap, easy rain collection solution! However, make sure it is on flat, sturdy ground. I had one that was a little tilted and it was too heavy for the leg bearing most the weight. The leg bent causing the whole barrel to collapse. I made sure the next one was not tilted and have had zero problems! Planning on buying more!

Awful product.
Awful purchase! The first time i set it up and filled it one of the legs broke. Then when i tried to move it (with about 5 gallons of water in the bottom) the entire zipper came apart. Seriously, this is NOT a durable or well made product. I only used it twice and because it doesn’t have any framing on the top or bottom if you fill it up it basically won’t hold its shape and falls over. I don’t know how it got good reviews from others - but I live on a farm and this thing is worthless.

water containment barrel for garden.
it is lite weight, easy to handle, but not very sturdy, The instructions were not very c;lear in assembly. Also there is no quick disconnect attachment to put on the end of the spiot so you can attach a regular garden hose. so we have to buy one. I won't buy another one when this one wears out.

Useful For Garden and Home
I bought this item when our water was turned off for repairs, and found it helpful for non-potable water that I use to wash my floors and clothes. We have hard water here, which doesn't work well to clean things. The barrel needs to be put on a stable surface, so I used bricks and 2x4s to make one. It also need to be raised so that the spigot (near the bottom) has clearance enough for you to put a bucket under it.It will not be entirely sturdy until it is full of water. Place it in a spot under your roof where the water falls a lot during rains, and it will fill quickly.Watch out, though -it also has an overflow valve. When it gets full, water will pour from that valve. If you have a bucket, or another barrel, you could put it next to it, and not lose any water.I have had mine outside for 6 months, and it is still working beautifully. It's great for watering for your plants, too, since it has no chloride or flouride in it.If you plan to use this for potable water, you shoould not use water from your roof, unless it is tin or ceramic. Asphalt, like mine has too much gravel and tar in it to drink. Even then, you MUST boil the water before drinking. Bird poop and insect larvae will be present if you do not.One more thing: the spigot at the bottom is small, but can be hooked to a hose for wstering your garden. It also has a screen to filter the water of insects and other debris. The top can be unzipped to allow you to scoop water from it, and has a mosqito/debris screen on top.

Gets the Job done
The media could not be loaded. Overall I am satisfied with the rain barrels, but they could be improved in my opinion. The gaskets, threads on the spigots, size of the spigots, and better instructions.I had to improvise to connect the two barrels together. Instructions for how to do that were not provided with the purchase. Nor could I find sound information in the reviews or answered questions for this product.I bought a tube at the hardware store with two pipe clamps to connect the two rain barrels together. I connected them together at the middle outlet rather than at the top of the barrels for several reasons. The main one being, I wanted to have an overflow for the second barrel. It would not make sense to have the overflow at the middle of the barrel for obvious reasons. As to all of the people that say that the barrels leak or got destroyed I would argue that it is user error. If you look at the threads on the spigots they are fine threaded. I had to purchase a fine thread to hose thread adaptor to connect my hose to the spigot. Connecting the hose straight to the fine thread spigot would be why it leaks. I figured that was common sense. Also building my base to be level for the barrels out of cinder blocks and concrete caps was key. The base MUST be level or the barrels will not hold water.I have two full rain barrels now after 2 rain falls. I bought a cheap irrigation system and a cheap external pump to push the water to my garden. As you can see from my photos because of the hydrostatic pressure I could not get my 2nd barrel to fully fill with water. So after one rainfall I simply diverted the slinky tube downspout to the second barrel so it would fully fill up.It’s not perfect, but it gets the job done. And it was a cheaper alternative to the giant plastic 50 gallon rain barrels that I would have to figure out how to store for winter.

correction to previous review
Earlier I said the drain valve had female 1/2 NPT threads. On review, I'm not sure what the thread is. Thread i.d. is about 0.94 inch. Pitch is 14 threads per inch. In any case, it doesn't thread onto a garden hose.
