#RelationshipGoals
Jonah and June are just the best. They're #relationshipgoals. They are gentle and kind and perfect for each other and their journey to come together is everything I want to read in a romance novel! The Last Wingman is a leisurely walk down lover's lane to arrive at one of the sweetest, brightest, truest, happily-ever-afters I've ever read! Jonah is a nerd covered in tattoos and piercings. He's the poster boy for "Don't Judge a Book by It's Cover." And, he's just what June needs most.Because this is the final book in the Wingman Series, this book also gave me some tears. Not that this story is sad, it's not at all! But, I will miss John, Tom, Dan, Jonah and the Kelso brothers! They've been such a welcome and wonderful part of my reading and blogging journey over the last few years. While I will miss them terribly, the beauty of books is that they will always be there for me, just as they are, when I want to go back for a visit. And, isn't that part of what's wonderful about books? We can read, relate to and love these characters. It is like we build our own relationship with each of them particularly in a really wonderful series that builds such a strong sense of place and the vibe of a whole island and its' people. The Last Wingman is receiving a rare 6-Rating on BFF Book Blog because it completely illustrates everything that I have loved about this series. It is warm, cozy, heart-felt, full of friendship, quirks and incredible characters. It will have a special place in my heart and on my bookshelf. If you haven't read The Wingmen Series, now is the time to start. Spend some time in Whidbey with the Wingmen and their lady loves. You won't regret a minute of your stay! Godspeed to my fictional friends. An advance copy of this book was received from the author. Receipt of this copy did not impact the content or independence of this review. I made the mistake of this being my first Wingmen, why haven't I been reading these before now!
So don't stone me when I tell you this but, The Last Wingman is the first Wingmen book I have read! *GASP*! I know, I know...or at least I know now! Don't ask me why, I have not excuse, I just have a lot of regret for having missed out on all this sweetness for so long, but I also have a lot of joy knowing I now get to go back and start at the beginning and experience this series for the very first time.I was afraid at the start of this book that I wasn't going to like it, not because the story didn't seem like it was going to be good but because it felt so slow, but you know what, in the end it is the slow burn that makes this book so much more enjoyable. I loved that Jonah and June take there time learning each other. I love that June comes in with preconceived notions that are totally wrong, I love that there is this blend of Pride and Prejudice and Beauty and the Beast to the feel of the back and forth with this couple as they navigate each other. I just plain love the all around sweet feel to this book. It's a slow and steady pace that makes you wish you could head out into the woods, set up your tent, light a campfire, warm some hot cocoa, and roast some marshmallows as you read. I need some early summer nights of camping in my life right now!One of my absolute favorite things about this book and I am kind of hoping I will see it in the previous ones as well when I go back, all the literary references! Watership Down makes an appearance, (my 13 year old was ecstatic about this fact!) lots of fantastic Harry Potter references, Ravenclaw for the win, be still my nerdy heart! Which brings be to something else I loved. Jonah! I could release with him on so many levels, a bit 'long in the tooth', tattooed, pierced, (though no gauges for me) Ravenclaw, love to play dress up, in general an odd little nerd! To me there was just so much to love about him, his patience, his sweentness, his little pervy side. He is the total do not judge a book by it's cover package and I could't get enough of him. It took me a while to warm up to June because she comes in so judgmental in the beginning but by the end she had me swooning too!I can't say that this is the perfect end to the series since I haven't read the other books but I can say it is a great read and I can't wait to dive into the 5 previous books now. Get this one on your TBR and just get ready for a perfectly wonderful time and if you can read it while out enjoying all that nature has to offer more the better!

Saving the best until last...
Daisy! I love Jonah and June! This truly is the end of an era. I’ve been waiting for the mysterious quiet Jonah’s story since the beginning wanting to know more about the hot silent bearded and tattooed “hipster” in the coffee booth. I love all the sweetness underneath. He truly did take peoples confessions as he made them coffee. He is another guy that wears his tattoos like an armor. He was a loner for so long and liked it that way but not truly feeling alone until he reaches his 30’s and sees all of his friends happily paired off, and he the last man standing and then June shows up causing a crush that wakes the last wingman. You want to give them both a push, but neither is the type where that will work. He takes his time. She resists. They seem perfect for each other from the beginning to me despite June’s resistance. I wanted to say June, wake up! But her resistance was really more about her past and previous experiences and actions so it took her time to see the good in him. I loved when she confessed her attraction was strong and she tried to resist because she knew she would fall for him. I can picture them together, and in fact the image reminds me of couples I know, particularly my friends Jaquline and Luke. She is an artist and they both play music together and now have 4 kids together. If June gets used to kids I could see Her and Jonah making very cute babies. she would knit 🧶 and maybe him too, the cutest blankets and outfits in their future. I’m so glad he stepped up is pursuit and that she opened up. I’m glad they could also fall in love and get past the past of their fathers. Thanks for this book Daisy! I still kind of want the Falcon book though. I resisting the end of this island! Can he have at least an outtake! I love fairy doors by the way.
