Beautiful Bobby Bubbles
Bobby Bubbles (Bolle in Italian) beautiful body on full display with taste. Let's face it that's what this book is almost all about The "almost" relates to the split in message. The first part is placing Bolle in historic locations looking like sculpture. The second is a rend of one of his annual summer gala tours in Italy. It's a hoot to have and enjoyable and it isn't really about dance.

Bolle - ambassador for Italy's Heritage
This arresting collection of over 100 colour plates is as much a celebration of Italy's UNESCO World Heritage sites as of the dancer himself whose sculpted and statuesque form is appropriately placed by Fabrizio Ferri in the ruins of Pompeii. Bolle, besmirched with volcanic grit and soot, assumes the contorted attitude of one of the corpses excavated from the ashes or stands draped like figures in the frescoes behind him or reclines on a stone bench in the cavernous ruined baths - as Roman bathers once had. The remainder of the photographs, by Luciano Romano, show Bolle performing in the beautiful and unique architectural sites of Rome,Milan, Naples, Florence, Verona, Venice, Capri and Sicily. Sometimes these amphitheatres and temples are the subject, photographed against the blue of the Mediterranean but more often it's the airborne figure of Bolle himself with the architecture as a magnificent backdrop. Here Bolle flamboyantly fulfils his role as a cultural ambassador for UNESCO, reminding us of the vital importance of preserving Italy's heritage for the world.
