Good Value
The product is well built with a nice anodized finish and robust, surprising no instructions for use were included though. No link to a YouTube video either, doing a search only the competitor came up. Watched their video to learn how to use this one. That being said it's still a nice product, worth the cost.

Two issues
1) The portion of the kerfmaker which is supposed to calibrate the material thickness: mine does not close all the way. I tried to use an exacto knife to remove any dust that may be there, or remove any tiny burr that may be there. There didn't seem to be any obstruction, but there was clearly a gap.2) The sections/wheels are not independent, in practice. When you tighten down the wheel after calibrating the kerf width, the friction created means you cannot move the other section. You have to only moderately tighten down the kerf calibration, then hold the two upper pieces with your hand and move them out carefully to insert the material into the other calibration gap. When I got mine calibrated, my first dado came out narrow, which is exactly what you'd expect given the imprecision in #1 above.

Works, nice finish.
Works just like it should. Clearly a Bridge City Tools rip off, even the description is the same. But, it works. The maximum kerf thickness is less than the KM-1 at about 7/16, but you could easily cut off some of the aluminum that is the thickest to increase the kerf ability. I think you could probably increase it to 3/4" by cutting some of the aluminum. Anyway, good deal. Nice finish too. Bigger than i thought it would be which I think is good. My first time using it I got a really nice and tight dado that fit my board nicely. Should last a lifetime, not a lot to break.

A pretty good copy of the Bridge City Kerfmaker KM-1, but doesn't tighten down well.
You can fix it though, so not a bad buy. YouTube videos for the "real" Kerfmaker will show you how to use it. Tons cheaper than a real one too, if you don't mind a patent violation or two and giving money to China instead of the guys in Portland Oregon that make the real ones.

Excellent Kerf Maker
This is an excellent kerf maker, I made a wooden one about five or six years ago, and I use it daily, so I'm well versed in using a kerf maker. The materials are of excellent quality, and the operation of the parts are very smooth. I would recommend this to anyone who uses their table saw to cut dado's.

Fit issues
Good quality material. Has some fit issues. Cant adjust saw width side if stock width side is tightened. There are better ones for same price or less

Poorly Made Chinese knock off
The mechanism does not fully close for kerf calibration. It remains open by 1/32 of an inch so all your dados will either be too tight to fit or too loose to give that professional fit we like to see. Try another model and let the Chinese keep this. Not good enough manufacturing.
