This Relish is Remarkable
With memories of eating Hogies in PA years ago, I ordered this relish and one other.Byler's is the winner by far. We happen to like spicy - - but don't let the "Extra Hot"scare you. It actually is just right -- with a tiny tinge of sweet. Absolutely thebest, and I'm so glad I found it. Great to add to any sandwich that we are makingand also add it to subs that we have purchased. Byler's relish is that extra touchthat puts the flavor over the top. Love it.

Excellent quality pepper relish.
It's spicy and tastes good. Perfect for putting on subs or sandwiches. It's also useful to drop into some tuna fish to make some spicy tuna fish. The price is affordable, the quality is on point and it tastes great. Highly recommend.

Little too sweet
Spiciness was good, but a little too sweet.

Flavor with a kick.
I love these. Most of the time when I see spicy advertised on a relish I roll my eyes. I’ll preface this by saying I have a very high tolerance for spice as well. This relish does have a little bit of kick for me and a huge kick of flavor! Really it’s delicious and should give you that little extra you’re looking for!

Very lame, sweet relish with no heat.
Extra Hot? I they meant Extra Lame! Maybe a tiny hint of heat? Maybe for a baby? It’s called “extra hot, super spicy” and it is so lame it’s almost laughable. And it tastes sweet. Who likes sweet pepper relish on their Italian hoagie? Very disappointing. You guys should change the name of this product to Extra Sweet. I usually get Cento hot pepper relish but wanted to try something different. I’ll gift the other unopened jar lol.

Supposed To Be EXTRA HOT
Got this because it said it is extra hot. Delivery time was fast, however, the relish isn't even that hot. Adds some flavor to dishes, though.

Just OK, surprisingly mild and sweet
I'll start by admitting that I like spicy foods, but not "crazy spicy." There are hot sauces in my local grocery store that I find *too* hot (ghost peppers, for example), and if I'm eating sushi I find that a little bit of wasabi goes a long way.Anyway, I can no longer find my favorite hot pepper spread for hoagies, so I thought I'd give this Byler's extra hot relish a try. Yes, it has a little bit of kick, but for me, it hardly deserves the label "extra hot." Mostly, it's just sweet, with a little bit of heat.I should also note that the liquid part of this relish is unusually thick and syrupy. With most relishes, the brine is pretty thin, so you can drain most of the liquid before spreading. I like to do this so the relish doesn't make my sandwich drippy or soggy. This relish is not very easy to drain; the liquid really clings to the pepper pieces. And since most of the sugar is probably dissolved in the liquid, that's probably what makes it taste so sweet to me.If you're a person who just loves those "sweet and spicy" pickles, or if you tend to add sugar to a lot of foods you prepare (mayonnaise-based salads and deviled eggs come to mind), you might enjoy this relish. But for me, I'll continue looking elsewhere.
