Blue Sea Systems 1011 Dash Socket, 12V, Black

Put this on my ancient four wheeler to have an easy way to use stuff like a portable tire inflator. Used to work on firetrucks and we used Blue Sea products there, they are very well designed and built, but won't break the bank either!With this being completely exposed to the elements front AND back, I did decide to put some grease on the contacts inside just to make absolutely sure that they wont corrode, as the back of the socket is not totally water proof.Overall this works great, is reasonably priced, and is just about the best 12v outlet you can buy.

The large panel mount just slides off. After that, it went right in. The plug has a moderate grip on chargers, ect and the twist lock function works well. Don't forget your spade crimp terminals!

Super easy to install, the wire lugs are a standard size, and are clearly labelled pos/neg. My only complaint on the mounting would be that it would be nice if it was sized to fit in a standard drill, like 1 1/8 or 1/14 inch. As it was, I drilled a 1" hole, and opened it up with a dremel. It's not pretty, but there is enough "lip" to the socket to cover the roughness of the hole, even without the rectangular piece (which pops right off, you don't need to use it).Is it waterproof? I washed the motorcycle after install, opened the lid, dry inside. So it worked for that. Would it survive a rain storm? Hard to say for sure, but then I don't remember the last time I rode in heavy rain, so it's not an issue for me. So, in my opinion, it's water-proof enough for real use.

Reliable 12 volt socket for all your up to15 amp needs, looks good once installed and functions better than lesser priced models. I liked that there is an option of using the faceplate or not, but the odd sized hole that it needs for a tight fit makes it hard to find a hole saw/ drill bit that works. 1-1/4” gives a sloppy fit but it works just fine. The plug cover is not a tight fit but it’s snug enough to stay closed.

I bought this for use with a Dometic 12V refrigerator/freezer. Sometimes these 12V receptacles can be a little sketchy with how well the plug fits this one isn't. The Dometic pug fit well, looks like it's going to stay put. The receptacle itself has two different mounting choices; either use the two bolt flange or just drill the correct size hole and use the nut on the back of the receptacle itself- useful if you have hole to large to use the nut method. The connections for the receptacle itself are marked and take standard blade connectors.Overall, a solid piece.

This was exactly what I was looking for and at a very reasonable price, delivered reliably and quickly. I wanted an accessory socket that I could add to my golf cart to plug in my iPhone. The iPhone has a limited battery life. I have a golf GPS that I want to use for a full 18 hole round of golf and without extra power, I have to turn off the iPhone for most of the round. Turning it back on increases the time for a GPS lock and adds a wait time before I can get a reliable distance measurement; an annoying wait for my golf partners. This socket was easy to install, well made and allows me to use the iPhone charger cord that I purchased for our auto. The 1 1/16 inch circle drill to install it cost more than the socket!

I can not post a full review because I have not used the item.It is a Blue Seas item and everything I have received form them is always good quality.When I install and use I will report back.

I bought this to use on my pop-up trailer. It worked perfectly in the 3/8" thick MDF. I did not use the rectangular cover plate, it is just for looks and you just screw it into the mounting surface after you install the socket. This does not come with any wires, connectors or fuse, but that was fine with me. I had to run about 6 feet of wire to my trailer's fuse box, so the typical 2 ft of wire, wouldn't work. My trailer's fuse box has 10 circuits and only 5 are being used, so I connected this to an open circuit and just had to put in a standard 15A automobile fuse to make it work. This worked out a lot better than using an in-line fuse, since I would not be able to access it with all of the wire hidden. I also attached a switch to this so that I could shut it off. I bought an LED lighted switch at Advanced Autoparts.

Ich bin mit allen Artikeln von Blue Sea Systems bisher sehr zufrieden. Material und Verarbeitung wirken wertig und in der praktischen Anwendung gab es bislang keine Probleme. Würde ich wieder kaufen.

Great quality. Slight niggle: the cap is a little bit of a pain to properly locate behind the faceplate to fit the retainer in the slot intended. But you only need concern yourself with that once. Retaining nut on the back has a nice solid feel compared to the knock off competitors

Easy to fit, very solid construction and should last for many years. I have fitted this in the boot of my Jaguar X-Type to provide an additional power source for a 12v fridge when going out for the day and it is perfect for the task.

Hands down Blue Seas is the best product for marine applications .

As advertised..and well made....fits hole size as described in the online description and not the size stated on the package. recommend drilling a test hole first to ensure snug fit in your dash or cabinetry.
