Great colors and just the correct amount of yarn to make squares.

I am a crochet beginner, and Scheepjes Catona has quickly become my favorite yarn to work with. It makes beautiful amigurami. I bought this kit because I needed so many different colors for a granny square pillow project, and boy did it deliver. Every color in the rainbow in one box! Each 10 gm yarn bundle is enough to complete a small granny square with yarn left over ( pictured are 3 1/2” using a 2.75” hook). This is high quality yarn. Allows for very smooth stitching, never frays, and the colors are so vibrant! You may be able to find cheaper yarn but it won’t be a better value considering overall quality and ease of use.

I wanted to make a special crochet afghan with light (muted) colors with an antique color lacy border. It is difficult to really see colors on a PC screen so I splurged and bought the 80 skein "sample" package This yarn is extremely soft and doesn't split while crocheting. The colors are just what I needed. A few are very bright and those I set aside for another project. The muted colors are beautiful. I have made up eight squares so far to determine which I will use for the entire afghan. Each little skein is 10 ounces. This is not exact. There is enough in each scan to crochet a granny square about 4 1/2 inches by 4 ½ inches. Doing that, there is a small amount of yarn remaining. Some have a little more than others. I would definitelybuy this again for eitherscrap work or for seeing true color of yarnA real quality product.

I wanted to crochet an afghan with lots of colors but am just starting with crochet so don’t have a yarn stash. I decided to buy this set instead of purchasing a lot of different colors and having tons of yarn left over (this was also more cost efficient). I played with a lot of ideas and settled on a simple granny square frame with a neutral framework. I love how it came out. I didn’t use a pattern I just played with size of square until I found the size that made the most of each skein (this size made 3-4 of each color). The yarn is soft and easy to work with. I have washed it and I fear it may pull with washing and use because of the synthetic content and way the synthetic is incorporated. But I’m hoping for the best. Some synthetic yarn is very soft when you handled the skein but when worked doesn’t feel as soft. This stays very soft once worked, lovely to cuddle up in. Highly recommend. I bought extra full skeins of the gray to frame with and used the leftover bits of each skein to do a contrast border element with subtle variegation.

Only complaint - this is the third box I've bought. All of boxes, including this one, is missing color #384 Powder Blue. They put in 2 of another color so the count of 109 stayed correct. This is a really good product that is wonderful to work with. Highly recommended.

As I pull colors for a project I’m working on, I’ve found the skein of color 226 Light Orchid is missing, but there is 2 of 520 Lavender instead. I have heard of quite a few others who have had the same issue with this pack, but everyone seems to have different colors missing and duplicated. I don’t know if the seller is able to address this, or if I should try to contact Scheepjes directly.ETA: I’m taking away another star as I have reached out to Scheepjes customer service directly (twice) and they were completely unresponsive, never even acknowledged my e-mails. Horrible way to treat customer concerns. I will never buy another of their products.ETA: Nothing against the seller on this review as they did respond to say they sell the pack as is, or how they receive from the manufacturer and have no control over the contents.

It seems to be a common occurrence for the packaging of the product itself, the cardboard case, to have some form of damage. Mine also had this. It resembles water damage. The yarn balls inside were absolutely unharmed so I'm not mad.Some people may be bothered by the boxes condition of the yarn is also damaged, or if it is a display box, or a storage box and they are concerned with the overall aesthetic.I am not bothered by it because the yarn is okay, it does not have an odor, and the box still is able to be opened and closed. I am not going to fault the product because of the packaging as I really doubt Scheepjes is the one who did the damage.

I bought this just to see this. It's cute. I wish these were bigger thou.

The box has dust/dirt on the outside and inside lid of the box. It is a storage issue. The top yarn balls have a dirty look to them where the dust has been left to accumulate. Very disappointing. It seems a lot of other people have had the same issue, wish I'd read the reviews first. I have ordered other Sheepjes yarn boxes and they were delivered clean and well cared for.

Lots of beautiful small balls there are some variations in thickness with different colours. But I am very happy with them

I bought this box of scheepjees Catona yarn some time ago, to be honest it is such a joy exploring all the 10gram balls of yummy colours it seemed a shame to break into them. After a few weeks of deliberation I decided to use them on a tapestry using all the yarn in the box. The yarn is a great quality 4ply and would be suitable for crochet and knitting
