The Band's Visit Paperback – June 26, 2018

As a standalone script, I don’t think this would give you a good sense of the power of the play. (And how could it? We’re talking musical theater.) BUT If you loved the play or plan to see it it’s a joy to be able to get closer to the nuance of the superb book.

I am hearing impaired which makes going to shows difficult trying to figure out what the play is about. This had the dialogue and words of the songs so that I will know what’s going on when at the theater

The music is hauntingly beautiful and this book fills out the story if you can’t make it to Broadway.

Great play get the album too

I saw it In April Best Show on Broadway this Season it was Absolutely Remarkable and By Owning the Original Script written by Tony Winner Itamar Moses I can now remember that day I saw that remarkable Musical

The 2007 film was remarkable, but Itamar Moses and David Yazbek have accomplished a work of genius in distilling the essence of the story and creating from it a beautiful and moving essential human experience. This is true art. The book, the music, the show, all exceed the film that inspired them, raised the story into the sublime. Because of the scarcity of the opportunities to experience the live show, something I'd do regularly and repeatedly if possible, solace may be found in re-reading the book, re-playing the music. There is no tinsel here, no hollow spectacle, only bare honesty and truth.

Love this play. It reads so concisely, beautiful in every way. It’s a script and reads in that format, which I love.
