It works fine and keeps cold. When using a wrap over the ball the material jams up so you need to readjust the towel, unless you do not need to protect your skin from the cold metal ball.

Follow directions and place this in your freezer until it’s cold and then, wow! The stainless steel surface readily transfers the cold to your boo boo. Easy to hold and use without freezing your fingers or having a drippy, melting mess.

I love the idea behind these, although this one missed the mark. First off after an overnight freeze and some use the cold lasted about 2 + hours.Use is where the problem comes in. The design of this is that it has a small plastic peg in the bottom of the cup/base to allow the ball to roll. Unfortunately, the ball doesn't roll on it - easily at all. It will with no pressure on it, but I didn't want to keep reaching down to rotate the ball each time.Also, the base is unstable, so when using for my Plantar Fasciitis, it tipped over when placed on carpet and slid along the floor when on hardwood.Now, if this had a wider base, a non-slip base and a better way for the ball to roll, then we've got a winner.Decided to return.

These r well built and have the long lasting cold u need when massaging out a not. The hand roller is also well built it doesn't flex or bend when applying pressure. Definitely would recommend these.
