Much better than chalk paint.
I love GF milk paints. So far these are my favorite paints for re finishing furniture. Can't go back to chalk paints after using GF. They go on smooth and have a wonderful finish. I painted a very large heavy french provincial dresser with this paint and put no top coat on the body. Told the woman who bought it to let me know if there were any areas that needed to be touched up after she brought it home. They dresser was put in the back of a pickup truck, carried upstairs to a second floor apartment. Customer said there were some areas that got scratched and when I went to do the touch up I was amazed. the few scratches were on the front legs and I could hardly see them. This paint hold up very well. Love, love, love it. It may not distress as easily as chalk paint but it I still am able to distress with it.

Excellent to work with
Love working with this. Great texture, coverage and finish. Easy to work with. A little product goes a long way, had leftover after 2 coats on 2 dressers and a nightstand. It’s a bit lighter than I expected, would have preferred a darker shade, but my project turned out nice.

Excellent paint!
I painted a hutch and dining set as well as an end table with this paint. I thinned it some and ran it through a sprayer. Everything turned out beautifully! It cured nicely and seems like it will hold up well. The linen color was great base for adding a glaze over for more depth on my end table. This will be my go-to paint for future furniture projects.

Good smooth finish
Nice smooth finish. Didn't need a lot of coats. I would give five stars but to ne the color had a bit more yellow undertone than I was expecting. But I would recommend this product.

Whiter Than I Thought
It still works for what I needed and easy application. Not strong smelling, which is nice. It just appeared to be more beige on the computer, but it's whiter in action- but it's a small thing.

Love This Stuff!!!!!
I LOVE General Finishes Milk Paint. I had some "naked furniture" dining chairs that had previously been done in their Baby Blue shade, and we got tons of compliments on them. Preparing to move, I decided to change them to Linen, ordered the paint from Amazon. It came quickly, and was beautifully packed, I must say, unlike another GF paint I had ordered from Amazon earlier. (In fact, it was SO well packed, I wished they'd included instructions on how to pop the safety catches the seller had put on the can.)Took the chairs outside, put two or three coats on them, and voila! My husband came home and asked, "where'd you get the chairs?" Dude, you've been sitting on them for the past eight years! He couldn't believe it.GF Milk Paint has a beautiful, silky finish, and dries hard. I have used it on tables, chairs, dressers, desks, etc. Their antique-y colors are the best. The brighter ones have a nice smooth finish, but it's a bit cartoonish, i.e. when I did my kitchen table in Coral Crush and Lime, it was immediately dubbed the Watermelon Table, or the Lily Pulitzer table, depending on which kid was making fun of it. I have tried Annie Sloan (unimpressed), and have also made my own chalk paint out of Benjamin Moore samples (A+++) but the great thing about GF is, if the colors work for you, there's no mixing, and it goes on straight out of the can. You can also water it down.

Perfect!
I painted my Oak kitchen cabinets with General Finishes Linen milk paint & everyone loves it! I used 3 coats & one layer of General Finishes Top coat. You can still see the wood grain & the color is perfect! Very easy to work with, your first coat just needs to be very lightly applied, (just for the other coats to stick to) absolutely love this paint! Clean your brushes with soap & water and a damp rag cl

Thick and long-lasting finish
This thick paint does what it says it will. No need to prime or sand either. Just paint it on and it gives a great finish. The first coat may not impress but before the second coat has a chance to dry, you'll get to see the coverage. I am using it to paint kitchen cabinets and the first two pieces I painted look very professional--better than some of the cabinet paint jobs friends of mine paid for. There's a wide variety of colors to choose from but I always loved this slightly beige khaki color--darker than a white but not so deep brown, as some people prefer. It's a nice neutral. Be sure to follow on-label directions. I'm using three coats on the cabinets but two would suffice. Top it off with two or three layers of polyurethane to seal and protect the finish. It's a pricey paint, but it's better than in-store latex paints for coverage and durability.
