Excellent bird house for the money
For the money this is an excellent bird house, some might complain about the finish quality but you need to understand that this is just a bird house not to live in yourself. Quality is just perfect for its intended use.

Serves more purposes than you'd think...
I love my marten house! We had a double purpose for selecting it-- yeah, we love the birds and all, but there's this super-obnoxious street light across from our back yard, which sends a blinding ray straight into the eyes of anyone occupying a certain deck chair at night (shifting the chair position does no good). We spent a couple of years discussing it out there (typically in the evening), considering all kinds of ways to block that photo-blast-- none of them were really practical until we mused on the structure-on-a-pole approach. Now, there are many ways one could do that-- but this one houses birds. And it is a very fitting structural addition to a yard. We fastened it atop a strategically placed, stained and slightly weathered wooden 10-ft 4" x 4" and it looks just great out there. No birds are occupying it yet -- it was past nesting season when we put it up -- but we'll see what happens in the Spring. And even if no avian-types lay claim to an apartment, the anole lizards probably will... and it will still do its job of foiling that street light!

This is one BIG Bird House
This bird house is awesome !!!!!!!! I'm seriously considering ordering a second one and I don't even have room to place it, I like it that much !!! Really great construction, easy to clean out and will last for years. If your looking for a quality built bird house I highly recommend considering this.

Not built very well.
Positive part of my comment is that the birdhouse is sturdy enough. Looks nice from a distance. Negative part of my comment is that it has many gaps in the assembly, and it looks like the bit used to drill the 2 1/8" holes was very dull leaving splintered and rough edges. When paying over a hundred and thirty dollars, a person would thing the quality would be better. We were looking to buy several Purple Martin Houses over time. I doubt I will be repeat this order though.

Great size but needs some extra love
I was super excited to get this product because it was the largest bird house I could find. However, I was disappointed as soon as I opened the box. The box that it shipped in had no packaging whatsoever to protect the house. Not only that, but the house was only slightly smaller than the box making it extremely difficult to remove the house. When I finally did get the house out, the roof cracked along the back. I’m not sure if it was due to the force needed to remove the house or if it was cracked due to poor shipping conditions. The house also had a lot of jagged and frayed wood pieces which I ended up having to sand for safety and appearance purposes. I wouldn’t say not to buy it but just be aware that you might have to put in a little extra work.

Solid construction
So far so good... arrived today in good shape and mounted... waiting on birds to show up. Replaced the screws with better ones for outdoors

Perfect Cedar Martin House
Wow, why buy a Chinese plastic bird house when you can buy a beautifully crafted solid cedar one? Love it. And no need to spend another $90+ on a 'special' pole since it will fit right on a 4 x 4. Perfect.

THIS IS A GREAT MARTIN HOUSE !!! ALMOST OVER BUILT !!
I love this Martin House and I revamped it to what I needed ....which was a FLAT ROOF. I mounted it under my Car Port to protect these guys from the weather. And to keep them from crapping all over my Truck. Is there any way you can make some with a FLAT Roof? I am mounting them to the Perlings.
