Took 5 minutes to hook up. I have a older surround sound receiver that only had RCA input jacks. Purchased new TV with Optical audio output only. Needed a way to convert the optical output to RCA jacks on receiver to use my surround sound.As I stated it, only took 5 minutes to hook up. Sounds great, soooooo much better than TV speakers.The price was under $14. Worth every penny!!!!!!!!

Would not recommend for long hours of listening. Poor sound quality. Not sure if more expensive ones are better, but worth trying. I'm not sending back because I rarely use for long periods of time.

This is all you will need to hook up your optical or coaxial out TV to your stereo. Just put your TV sound on PCM or you may hear a crazy noise. Comes with a optical cable and power cable for USB into your TV. To power into the wall you will need a usb block into the wall or a power usb plug. No use paying more...

Have it connected to TV so I can connect any audio device, and works immediately matching TV speakers with no lag.

Works as advertised. Allowed me to use an old speaker tower with a new tv.

This is a sharing based on my own experience.Hope this helps.It comes with a “Toslink” cable with protective plastic caps. After removing the caps, you plug one end into the port labeled “digital audio out” or “digital optical audio out” or “SPDIF” on your TV and plug the other end into the port labeled “Toslink” on the HIPROAUDIO box.NOTE: The Toslink ports are covered with a lid that moves out of the way when you insert the Toslink cable. You may have to find out the correct position by trial and error.The converter box needs a 5 Volt power supply. It comes with a power cord that you can plug into a USB port on your TV or an unused charger with compatible voltage.Depending on your situation, you MAY need a longer Toslink cable than the one that comes with the converter.In order to make it work， you still need to go through the menue and change the audio setting to ""audio out"" from TV speaker

I recently purchased a Samsung 40 inch smart TV. I have a pair of Bose Companion 20 speakers with a mini stereo headphone jack that I wished to connect to the television. I was surprised that the television does not have a headphone jack. It does have a Digital optical plug-in. When I call Samsung service they said I would need to get a Digital to analog adapter. I ordered this device and it came with the cable as well as a USB power cord which can plug into a USB power port on the side of the television. It took abou few minutes to install and it works very well，This perfectly solved my problem.

This works exactly as expected and is easy to use. Sometimes you need to hook new tech up to old tech and this does the job.At the time of my review a price has not been listed yet, so I cannot comment on the price point.
