After shopping around quite a bit I decided to give this filter water bottle a try. I must say I am very happy with my purchase . A very nice water bottle. I really liked the solid feel and the quality of its construction. The built in water filter is an awesome feature. It not only filters debris from the water but it also filters out 99% of the stuff that makes you sick like bacteria and viruses. I live in an area surrounded by lakes and I used the bottle on one of my recent fishing trip. No problems at all. I also use it at home to filter out some tap water and keep in the fridge for ice cold water. The strap and the carabineer came in really handy and made it easier to carry around. The rubber seal does a good job of keeping the liquid inside the bottle. No leakage. The filter does make you have to pull a bit harder to drink the water. Overall a really great quality product.

There's a lot of talk over how difficult/easy it is to draw water through this mouthpiece. Folks, this is not really a problem. Is it harder than drinking through a straw? Yes. Is it worthy of all the stress and anxiety it apparently causes people here? No. My seven-year old can do it just fine, and doesn't complain (which is saying something). It takes a little time to refill the filter with water, which means on your first draw there's a second or so delay until you get any water. Other than that this thing is great. I've only tried it with my county's tap water so far, which is perfectly safe and drinkable, of course, but smells like chlorine. It completely removed that smell.Our intent is to use this primarily as a backup on long hikes, for when the hydration packs run out. It will be stored with our emergency gear when not in use.Given the other options for purifying water: boiling or tablets, this seemed the most sensible to me. The filter is supposed to have a 5-yr shelf life according to the included sheet. Do with that info what you will.Bottom line: this is a good product at a good price.

Large size filter fills 3/4 of bottle (it seems), so you KNOW it's going to work! Drawing up through the straw is no harder for me than any filter straws/bottles I have had. I'm still investigating what the filter is made of that would filter spores, etc, besides charcoal, but the city tap water tasted fine, and I got it for family who are going to the Costa Rica jungles, so we'll see when they get back :) well made and DOESNT LEAK!!! Update: I looked up the ingredients in the filter for this bottle and am very impressed with it. The materials are the same as those used in many municipal water systems around the country, and in filters used in third world countries.

So far I haven't come down with an bacterial or viral infection! Ha. I probably shouldn't joke about that. BUT the water bottle is awesome. It doesn't hold all the water in the world, but water is water out in the backwoods. I haven't yet used it on stagnant water, but i imagine it would work just as well as pulling from a running stream. I have enjoyed the water bottle and it has saved my ass in a couple of situations. It's not really that hard to suck up the water either, defiantly geared more for backpacking than a daily water bottle

Bought this bottle, and also a competitor's version for a big camping\hiking trip. The water from this bottle tasted considerably better then the competitor's. No one got sick, so I assume the filter worked just fine. Interesting that both filters for this and the competitor's model were interchangeable. Not a lot else to say, its a water bottle. My only complaint was that it didn't come with a carabiner clip (like the competitor's), but in looking at the product description, it probably was suppose to. (I'll email tech support about that I guess)

I ordered this product because of a trip I am taking to Italy and Greece. I wanted to have a filtered water bottle to make sure that I drank clean water. I received the Drinkrite filtered water bottle in record time. I even received an email from the company thanking me for purchasing their product. They asked me to contact them if I had any questions or concerns. Well, I can certainly tell them and you that this bottle exceeded my expectations. I love the color, the simplicity, and the effectiveness of filtering tap water. It's going into my backpack for my trip.

I have only used this on tap water so far and am looking forward to using it in lakes and streams. I find that the tap water taste as fresh as spring water. I belive it does make a difference in the taste of water and I believe the filtration process is what makes it so great. I feel that the filtering down to.0.01 Micron makes it safe for drinking most water sources. I would highly recommend this product to anyone and the manufacture goes out of his way to make sure you are satisfied. One more point,. The straw is heavy duty and water flow is more than sufficient and bottle does not leak. As with any product, Be sure to read the directions so that you understand how it works.tGordon Patenaude

Used this some while hiking in the wilderness in CO. It is a bit more difficult to suck water through the straw than anticipated, but the water does taste good. Somehow air gets in the straw so you have to suck a lot to get much water.
