HAVE NO WORDS
To explain how beautifully entertaining this book turned out to be. It took me to a quant town in England and then to my surprise to the same town hundreds of years before. If you like romance and time travel, this should keep you nicely entertained. HAPPY READING. ENJOY EACH NEW BOOK AS AN EXCITING ADVENTURE.

Intriguing Time Travel
The characters are so empathic, so real, that I found myself totally invested in their lives, their loves, their trials. Superbly researched and presented. I am now a definite fan!

Clever book
It was an interesting take on mediums with time travel thrown in. The pace was sometimes a frenzy and very slow at others.I found the main character's inner monologue very redundant.Overall a very good story that grabs you and makes you want to see it through.

True Understanding of Beautiful Items
Most of us have, I think, small useless to others unique things that have deepest meaning for us. My SOB (stinky old bear), a tie painted for my father, Midnight in Moscow played on a very old thread voiced jewelry casket. Yanthe, heroine of Little Shop, finds special articles all the time. This one, found at the outset of a new chapter in her and her mothers lives, is special beyond all others. Time travel, deep historical fantasy and threads leading away into the future and other volumes promise good reading, clever storytelling and a creative approach to the treasures of history. I can't wait for more.

Fun time travel
I got carried back to the 17th century by Ms. Brackston’s well written novel of love, loss and time travel.

Great read!
Beautiful story of a young lady from present day who finds herself on a mission to prove the innocence of another young lady accused of theft...in 1605.

Time Travelers united, although separated by 400 years
Classic time travelers romance or what's 400 plus years of history matter when you're in LOVE? Setup for plot is trite, but can lovers I second centuries of differences - NO. Adventurous, but trite. At least they didn't go all in for LOVE. Plot rattled along, so the obvious angst was not dwelt upon. Good exscapism, justdon't let logic get in the way.

Lovely story.
I've read all of Paula Brackston's previous novels and this is one of her best. It's a lovely story, Xanthe is such a good character and I love the descriptions of the town and the shop. I am pleased that there will be a sequel.Although it doesn't detract from the story, the book is riddled with errors and I am surprised that none of the other reviewers have mentioned this. You don't have a whole in your pocket or ride pinion on a motorcycle and 'the desk they had kept as our counter' makes no sense whatsoever. Also, Paula Brackston is a British author and this is a very English story but at some point the decision was made for this book to be written in American English. Whether that is pressure from the US publishers, a decision by the author herself or entirely down to the editors I do not know but it seems incongruous to have words like dumpster, gotten, takeout and American spellings of center, theater, traveling and laborer in a very English novel. The problem with this is that if we choose to go down this route then British English will die. It is very sad.So whilst I loved the story I feel that the editing has let the author down.

1 star as I can't score it no stars
The idea of this book sounded enchanting so I bought it on a whim. I hated it, it bored the life out of me, I got a third of the way in and was so disheartened by how awful and slow the story line was, I did not feel a connection with any of the characters, it is a clumsy, long drawn out book, it was donated to the charity shop only because I hate to throw books away. You may of course enjoy it, but I would not recommend this book at all.

Terrible, no research
When I read a book set in a certain place I expect the author to have researched that place beyond watching a films. Set in England, the characters slang and twang their way across the Bible belt and have no idea how to spell simple words like realise. There is no descriptive language so building a mental image is borderline impossible, even for the most creative of individuals. All round a cheap, quick, rubbish read you’re better off staying away from. More spelling mistakes than a primary school.

So much potential.
I got 1/3 of the way in and nothing had happened. I gave up, didn’t really care enough to stick it out any longer.

A welcomed bit of escapism
Really enjoy Time Slip novels & this was a great way to escape the Lockdown! Not sure that I liked the heroine though - she is very impatient & almost hostile at times. I realise that life & love have treated her unfairly, but one would think she would be more sympathetic towards others, especially those who are trying to help her.
