Bento Oval Lunch Box ~ Stainless Steel Liner ~ Leek Proof ~ Green

It looks nice but it really does not keep food hot or warm. The lid is not insulated it is just plastic. The heat (which rises) quickly escapes. The vent hole is not air tight so condensation will appear. It is only good for very short periods of time like under 2 hours if it was piping hot, wrapped in foil then placed into a thermal bag. It does fit into my kindergartners lunch pack and she is able to open it on her own. The size is appropriate for a young child or portion controllers. It did not spill the pasta sauce but I did add a layer of Cling Wrap press and seal before closing. It does have a gasket around the lid. I did a hot water test when I got it and placed boiling water in it then placed it in a plastic bag. 4-5 hours later you could see the condensation and the water was cold. NOT worth the $19.99 price. I would pay $6.99. If Thermos would come out with an oval container instead of the jars it would be perfect.

I returned it after few used because the so called stainless steel inside the lunch box got a bit rusty. I complained and told them they should be careful as rust is dangerous to eat. They replied and said it was just this shipment. So I returned it and got myself another brand called LunchPal and I have used it for a while and I have not had a problem so I decided to order another one but accidentally I ordered this Bento Oval Lunch box again and decided to keep it since the seller mentioned its only that specific shipment. But after 2 weeks of using, this morning I saw rust in the lunch box again. It doesn't keep the food hot for long but i used it for food that doesn't need it. I keep buying this container because it doesn't leak and is very comfortable to use.

My family loves this bento box and will purchase another one as my teenager is hogging the one I purchased for his younger brother. The kids really like that it is streamlined, yet has some depth to it, and fits into their lunch boxes or backpacks easily. They also like that it has handles so they can carry it separately, if needed. Last, that it is totally leak-proof is a fabulous benefit.

Food won't stay warm. Gets cold within 2 hours. Not well insulated at all . Very disappointed ...

It didn't keep my lunch warm, and it was under 4 hours.
