MistralAfter Shave Soothing Balm, Black Amber

Over the years I haven't made many changes to post-shave recovery.In my teens and 20's, I used Old Spice - which gave a pretty strong burn. It smelled nice enough, but the scent was a bit too much.One day at work, I had a bit of shaving irritation and a coworker randomly gave me a rave review of Nivea post shave balm. It was affordable and worked great. It soothed and felt like it left a protective layer of sorts - but it always felt like it took awhile to dry. My skin felt "wet" for a long while after use.I received a nice shave kit one Christmas a few years ago, and it contained an Art of Shaving post-shave balm. I felt like it did a decent job at soothing, but it was "unscented" and smelled very plain, bland. Like plain oatmeal, maybe? Either way, I was underwhelmed.I ran out of my shave cream, and when I went to order more I decided to also look for balms.With all of the above considered, I landed on this product and decided to give it a try.It has a fantastic scent, but is not overpowering. It gives a mild burn that doesn't last long. It dries quickly, but leaves my face feeling hydrated, and like it leaves a nice protective layer.I've only used it for 2 weeks now, but so far I'm very happy with this product.I would like to see it a little cheaper, as it's multiples more expensive than Nivea.. but it IS cheaper than Art of Shaving, and to me it is much better than both.

I'd been using the same product for 20+ years and absolutely loved it. However, it suddenly was no longer available...so I had to go looking for a substitute. So glad I found this product -- my new "forever" aftershave lotion. Great product!

This is my type of scent and it is amazing. I would add that it has a hint of oatmeal along with the vanilla bourbon scent. It feels great, lasts a good 3 ish hours scentwise, and smells amazing. A little small for what you get, but you also don’t need much, maybe a quarter sized drop to lather your whole face.

Smells great, almost like pipe tobacco.

Updating memy review. This stuff smells great but after a few months of using it I've noticed after a few hours of sitting in the office the pleasant smell turns into a yeast smell. I don't recommend it. If you like the scent buy the cologne it's far better.

This is a great after shave balm that has a subtle scent that is not overpowering but still lasts most of the day. Feels real good on the skin.

I like it as a balm but I really wish it had a little bit more strength to the scent. I think it is very weak.
