Amazing, engaging and inspiring. I’ve been reading this book to my 2.5yr old daughter repeatedly since I got it a month ago. We love Izzy Gizmo. The writing is awesome and I absolutely love the illustrations!!

My daughter is an offspring of engineers. Apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree. This was the perfect book. Now the story is AWESOME (Thank You, Pip) however the shipping was changed 4 times. Unacceptable. Amazon’s customer service was superb and took care of us.

This book has beautiful illustrations and a fun, creative story line. I read it aloud to my 8th grade students as a fun introduction to the design process.

I tutor at an elementary school and this was a gift! She absolutely loved the book! Girls + Science = Success

Great story about inventing and problem solving and persistence. The words have a great rhythm to them. It is one we will read over and over again.

We got this book in my son’s Kiwi crate, and I’m so glad we did. It’s absolutely adorable with a message my tinkering, impatient son needs reinforced. I love that they used a crow—one of the smartest birds—and I love that it took Izzy several tries and a little help from her feathery friend to finally get a version that worked. The illustrations are adorable and the rhymes work well. I’m so glad I accidentally ordered the Kiwi crate add-on in the month this book happened to be it.

Great story!

My 7 yo son and I adore the Izzy Gizmo books. We pretty much know them by heart - we need more! In addition to how brilliant they are, we (ok *I* love the message about how to deal with frustration and trying again). And the grandpa is awesome.Can give Izzy a whole crew of diverse kids doing cool things, including some from non-traditional families? We would buy them all.I keep buying more and more copies of these to give away as gifts.

Wonderful book to encourage little engineers!

What fun it was to read this book. My daughter is 3, she is yet to grab the whole fun of it but I'm sure, very soon this will be one of her favourites. The book will take your child's natural scientific curiousity one step ahead 📕

What a brilliant book, especially for little girls. First, it shows that girls can be tinkerers and inventors; it's not just "for boys".The "moral" of the story is to not give up so easily, if something doesn't go right, it's ok to be disappointed and frustrated about it but to then keep trying, just because the first (or 5th) attempt didn't work, it doesn't mean you're a failure.For unconventional families/single parent homes etc., this is also a breath of fresh air as it only features a grandfather, not parents.The artwork throughout the book is like the front cover, I love it. It's vibrant and full of little details for children to discover. The inventions Izzy makes are wonderfully creative and this is reflected in the illustrations beautifully.The illustrations themselves add to the story: the written story (short sentences on each page) conveys the message of not giving up/keep trying but the illustrations go further and reflect the creative process of coming up with new ideas, doing research to improve on your ideas and so on.The end gives me a good chuckle every time, too, it's an extra little lesson for Izzy to learn - that she can't just help herself to bits and bobs without checking with the owners first!

I have now bought this book for several children because we love it so much. Great for animal loving, strong, capable girls and boys. First bought it for my 4 year old son, now my 3 year old daughter loves it.
