Way better than plastic vice inserts.
Great for camping your barrel in bench vice for muzzle break and compensator installs. It did mark up the barrel a little bit, but the area is hidden under the hand guard. I would suggest taping up your barrel before inserting into the clamp.

They work use an inner tube to add extra grip
Good quality, but can't work for much else. I had bought these to hold onto a magazine tube for removing one from a Mossberg 500. Due to the nature of being aluminum they slipped all around on my magazine tube, I had to tighten the vise so much that I stopped before I crushed the tube. I would have used a bicycle tube to slip over and add the grip I needed but I had to heat the tube for removal and didnt need melted rubber however it would work great if you don't need to heat anything. However I will use these in the future for some other repairs. I placed these on a 4 inch vise and they fit just perfect, however put a small piece of duct tape from the Barrel Jaws to the vise so they stay in place as you clamp down on your barrel or magazine tube.

Works well
I bought these barrel clamps to take a barrel extension off an AR barrel. I clamped the barrel in the vise using this product. I heated one third of the barrel extension with a propane torch. I used an extension tool on one end and a pipe wrench to stop the barrel from turning on the front sight journal. The extension came right off without marring the sight journal. This product works well.

Works
You really have to clamp it down tight, but it will work. Scuffed up my stainless barrel a little, but not bad.

Works wonderful holding a barrel in a vice without scratching it
Works wonderful holding a barrel in a vice without scratching it. Would definitely recommend it for someone needing to take in the muzzle brake Or just to work on a gun barrel that needs to be held securely.

Not great, barrels slip easily.
Not a lot of grip, and really small for the job. Could use built in magnets to keep them in place on a vice. I’d recommend spending more and getting a better barrel vice.

Good Barrel Jaws
I was worried this wouldn't work on a 6.8 barrel. I was wrong. I bought these for a friend of mine and he said it worked great on his Bison Armory 6.8 recon barrel as long as you put a rag or rubber inner tube between it and the barrel to prevent scratching.
