Highly recommend this in-depth, fun Bible study!
I am more than halfway through this Bible study with my sons, ages 9 and 7, and it is really fantastic. Each week is devoted to one chapter and so it is quite thorough, and even though we go over the same verses each day for a week, we are looking at it from different angles and really delving into the 5 Ws and an H! I also appreciate that it doesn't take too long (20 minutes or so) and that each book is themed to keep it interesting to the kids (looks at this book from a movie-maker's perspective). This is my 5th year homeschooling and I've tried out many Bible studies. I have already purchased Kay's "Teach me to Pray" from this series for when we finish this book, and I will continue until I've used them all up, and then I will, in all likelihood, buy them again to use with my 3 and 2 year olds when they are older. Can't recommend it enough.

Great Bible study for kids AND parents
I absolutely love the Discover series for kids! We have done Jonah, James, Daniel, Genesis, and more. This one on John is so good. My kids and I are loving learning about Jesus' life. These studies take you and your kids straight through the book of the Bible, learning so much as you go through. We skip the extra "story" stuff because my kids are not interested, but the BIble study portion itself is excellent. I learn so much through these studies as well. I highly recommend these bible studies!

Nothing Special
I am always looking for books and ideas that I can use in my Sunday School classes. As my students get older I need to evolve from children's Bibles to versions for older kids. I also like to find quizzes, tests and activities that will involve the children imaginatively in the subject at hand. I got this book hoping to satisfy some of these needs. However, the copyright is not worded such that I am not comfortable making copies for my class or my church. I am more used to having resources that word the copyright so that copies can be made for educational purposes and would like to see that wording in this book. The Biblical text is simply a reprint of an adult version, so there was nothing age appropriate in that department. Understand, I would use the quizzes if I could and I don't know why one would write a this kind of book and then not allow reproduction of the materials. The theme of being a movie director is an interesting add on that can be worked around if not wanted. On a positive note, if allowed to reproduce them, there are exercises in the book that are very good for the beginning student in learning to look up answers to specific Biblical questions. The method strengthens reading abilities in general, not just Bible reading. These are the resources I would find of most value. Hopefully the publisher and author will reconsider the wording of their copyright language.

Great way to teach kids the Bible!
This is great workbook to help children & teens work through the Gospel of John and learn not only what the Gospel teaches, but also builds their confidence in teaching them tools on how to dig out information for themselves. It has puzzles & games, too as well as quizzes, which I surprised that my group wanted to take! The book contains the entire Gospel of John as an Observation Worksheet for the kids to make notes in to help them look back & see at a glance to review.

Highly recommend!
I started using this devotional for my homeschooling kids for Bible lessons . My son is a 6th grader who reads at a lower level. I was concerned he would have a hard time with this, but it is just the right amount of reading for him. He enjoys the puzzle games and learning more about the Bible in a fun way. The book is divided into chapters with five days of lessons in each chapter. It's perfect for a homeschooling Bible class. I think this would work well for a discipleship group as well!

So far so good!
I have looked at these Kay Arthur Kid studies for years because I have been leading Precept Inductive studies since 2000. My kids are just the right age for them. I have two boys in 4th and 6th grade, and they are loving this study. They make storyboards and search for key words and answer 5 W and an H questions, and they are really enjoying it. We do it every other day during our Bible time in homeschool. As a special bonus, since we are making a "movie" of the book of John, we watch The Gospel of John on DVD. It is a word-for-word script of the book of John. It is great for them to see an actual movie interpretation fo the chapter they just studied inductively. It is a hit so far!

Really well done! Our fave family devotion book
We are a homeschooling family with 9 kids and the our second book in this series by these authors and we love them! They are well rounded and having most of the scripture needed in the back of the book is very handy! We will be going through all the books in this series!
