Awesome knife!
I love this little guy! It's pretty darn sharp right out of the box!! Plus, it feels exceptionally good in the hand.. It feels very secure in its holster. And honestly, my favorite part... That satisfying "click" when returning it to its holster. AHHHH!I hope I'll never actually need it in an emergency situation, but I do feel much safer knowing it's secured to my pfd! I haven't used it a whole lot yet, so I hope it doesn't rust or wear out too easily... It's handy and seems to be really nice quality. I highly recommend this awesome little knife!

Its sturdy and does what it should.
I've used this brand of squeeze lock dive/water related knives for close to 10 years. This latest one is on my PFD for sailing. Its squeeze lock sheath holds it tightly but released easily with a 1 hand grip. I've never had one slip loose, and the blunt tip would be just about impossible to stab yourself with. I haven't had to cut a rope on the boat with it yet, but I've tested it and it slices as well as any other knife I've owned. Can't beat amazons price on this one either.

serviceable emergency knife
A serviceable emergency knife with a 304 stainless steel blade (tested with a magnet and it is non-magnetic 304). Since it is 300 series stainless steel it it should not rust, but cannot be hardened and will probably not hold an edge very long under use. That being said it should hold up long enough to cut through some softer materials for a while. Personally I would rather it be made of 400 series stainless steel so it could be hardened in order to have a more durable edge and put up with the dis-coloration and light oxidation it might get. Then I would call it a solid five stars. The smooth edge was sharpened from one side only, apparently with a belt sander (not uncommon with new knifes) so I touched it up a little with a medium diamond hone, but since it is a soft metal for a blade I did not bother to put a fine edge on it.It does lock securely into the sheath and with some effort and removing a screw i got it clipped to the accessory patch on my PFD where it is quickly available. For other purposes I guess I should still carry my trusty old pocket knife.

Excellent quality, squeeze lock works perfectly. Great value
Excellent knife. Very sharp. I really like the squeeze lock - very smooth - easy to un-sheath and re-sheath. Comes with several mounting options. I am using on a PFD. Perfect!

Understand why this tip is important
I liked the compactness of this knife. Also the blunt tip is important in kayak fishing because if you ever get a body part entangled in something like an anchor rope, braided line or steel leeder, you are going to need that tip to wedge it in-between your skin and the line without severing a major artery. Quick response and proper insertion of this tool could save your life. Let's hope one never needs to use it.

VERY DULL - AVOID
I bought this knife as safety for whitewater, primarily for the squeeze lock, which is easy to access and very secure. I noticed the flat side was rather dull but didn't worry much as I thought the serrated side would work. I happily wore it on my PFD for a few months and never used it, until I took a SWR class where we did a cutting race. This knife took 45 seconds to cut through a 1/2" climbing rope. Other knives (bear claw, NRS, etc) took less than 3. Serrated or plain edge didn't matter. Others have talked of sharpening it yourself, but if you really need something to cut quickly in an emergency avoid this one at all costs.

Those with high praise reviews need to go to knife school
I am not a huge fan of 'low-price' for everything under the sun. It would be nice to have a choice between this low-budget China-made consumer level knife and a more expensive, professional grade rescue knife with a Swiss, USA, German or Japanese made blade. The one I have is not exactly as the one in the Amazon description photo, the serration on mine extends to almost the tip.Decent plastic, decent sheath, decent grip, decent lock/unlock feature. Cracker jack box surprise toy blade full of burrs and dull spots out of the box. Low quality stainless steel, so it appears. I'll sharpen it and give it a chance to prove itself.Sort of on the small side, too. Yea, I know I'll wear it on my PFD and I'm not Rambo, so maybe small is ok.The minor things that dampened my first impression: the lack of out-of-box sharpness, the budget blade material, and the smallish overall size have given way to my mediocre satisfaction with the knife. I will attach it to my PFD and put a lanyard on the handle. If I had the choice, I would have payed more for a knife with a higher quality blade. You get what you pay for, don't expect quality to match a $90 USA made Kershaw.

Very handy, sharp knife for use on my kayak
I use this exclusively on my kayak to cut fishing lines that hang from bridges and trees in addition to cutting small plants in very narrow creeks and overhanging weeds. It is mounted on my pfd and can be removed with one quick hand movement. It easily clicks back into place.Love it and would recommend it highly.
